  • America can the country afford another Bush in the oval office - Can we afford to Let our country be turned into a waste land Just becuase the Republicans only have the best intrest of the 1% and corporations - watch this Video and you decide "Thom Hartmann: Republicans ran up the debt & now they don't want to pay the bill" - Let's WTFU America

  • Welfare-to-work got its start in Nazi Germany. The Nazi's had a motto: "Work Shall Make You Free" and made their prisoners work very hard. Another motto was: "To Each His Own" which translated as "everyone gets what he/she deserves." Sounds a lot like American mottos today, no? Low-paying, dead-end jobs don't help poor ppl, just keeps them poor&one paycheck away from homelessness.

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP DUCATI! WE DONT CARE WHAT PAPER SERVICE YOU USE!!!

  • welfare to work is a scam, it provides a clearinghouse of cheap labor to massive companies, while making welfare more prevalent be uase they only get paid minimum wage, and make crime & education worse becuase parents in welfare to work have to work 14 hours a day, with no time to check up on their children!

  • Listen, this work to welfare are for shitty ass jobs. These people are getting dead end jobs, part time jobs. These work to welfare jobs arent going to lead anybody up the social ladder but keep them barely living.

  • @Bloodsport1 Yes, and ppl working at those low-paying jobs are likely to end up on welfare, foodstamps, Medicaid or some other form of govt assistance 'cause they can't ever get any money saved up. It's so expensive to go to college that they'll never be able to afford to get an education or work their way up.

  • @Bloodsport1 What I meant was, when any emergency occurs or if health problems appear, ppl working at low-paying jobs won't be prepared to handle that. For example, many women end up homeless when they leave their abusive husbands 'cause their own salaries aren't high enough for them to support themselves &their kids on their own. Medical problems cause some to become homeless when they have no savings to pay for medical care they need.

  • The Republicans only care about advancing the rich. Period.

  • Bush was awful, but he's not the only reason today is as it is. We must remember that the blame carries to everyone at some point, if you want to include the fact that we vote these people in. The solution isn't to point fingers, but to engage the problem head on. If that means voting democrat so bills like this (arguably good for everyone, from nearly every political standpoint) actually pass and/or get renewed, then so be it. If your conservative, you should be violently sick over this.

  • Yeah! if absolutely no Americans were to vote the out come will still be the same! Right?

Or you could just vote for the Democrats and let them change the morals that America was founded upon in the very beginning. They want "Change" almost like a sex change. Let them legalize gay and lez marriages nation wide when there isn't even a cure for HIV Aids yet! That makes a whole lot of sense.... Because its all up to the people!!! That won't nothing but increase the death rate in America hint hint

  • @mattmoreira252

I don't know if you recognize it yet or not, but marriage does not lead to an increase in the rate of STD transfer. If you're tied down to someone, why would you be more likely to practice risky and/or unprotected sex? I mean seriously? Marriage is not controlled by the church, it is controlled by the government. Did you go to the county clerk to get your marriage certificate? Your parents did (if married), or a similar government office. Shove off with the righteousness.

  • @mattmoreira252 that has nothing to do with anything. going off your stand point they should never have allowed women or black people equal rights either. And what an idiot if people get married it's because they want to settle down for life not sleep around. And judging by your bias viewpoint if that increased the death of homosexuals (which is like saying eating apples will make more oranges grow) why would you even be complaining? come outta the closet. your not foolin anybody...

  • Both parties don't care about the average americans.

  • It doesn't matter what party you vote for you are screwed either way.

  • Yes, indeed, you dumb Americans should vote republicans, they are evil and powerful, why not side with them?

Vote democrats, they will stir up all hatred and problem to make your country suffer, vote republicans, it will be the children in middle east that suffer.

    Is the choice not clear?

  • omg..inequality is getting WORSE why do think republicans GIVE A SHIT is beyond me

  • now can u answer me this q in ur country u spend 9% of ur gop on health care while 34 million americans get no health care at all. in my country we spend 7% of gop on health care every man woman & child are covered. stop the insurrection breaking windows of politicians spitting on them TEA PARTY should be illegal arrest all there leaders throw them in jail no bail no warrents save the ur country these jerks dont know what they are saying they are weaken ur country.

  • statism is dead. the democrats are no different than the republicans

  • The answer is simple: empowering the poor and the needy is not on their agenda :(

  • very sad

  • Liberals are bastards too, just vote out, whoever is in

  • @aarondavid826 replace everybody! thats what needs to be done. And we can keep an eye on all the new fuckers.

  • Comment removed

  • i still wanna know why cenk chose the republicans for some years till he made his mind up

  • JESUS. politics over policy. what a bunch of assholes.

The cost to extend this program is the same cost as one single fu@<ing Stealth Bomber.

  • No one believes the Democrats actually want this. States were required to drop their welfare reforms in order to get stimulus money. Democrats are trying to make themselves look good at the last minute.

  • Republicans are BASTARDS!

  • Republicans are the curse and cancer of America!

    Poor America!

They fucked it up with their clown Bush and put America in deep shit. They don't want to take the responsability for what they did and they're trying so hard to blame Obama! So typical of what republicans do! But we all know they fucked it up! Never again!

  • @nuage7777 Hey, not everyone voted for Bush. Not to mention his brother helped rig the election in his favor. Bush actually LOST the popular vote, but our screwed up system handed him the Presidency.

As to his re-election, in times of war the incumbent President is almost always re-elected. I think he declared war on Iraq partially to get him another 4 years.

  • It's always amusing to see you kids being misled by these Elites. You want a Rosey world with peace and love and no work, just happy go lucky life styles. And where did you learn of such things. Oh in college. Why are you in college, incurring more debt that you will never escape ? That's right, the vast majority of you are in school to learn how to take part in our greed driven society. Oh and so you can pay off the loans you took to pay for that education. Bwahahaha !

  • @hobo59 Amusing and being misled ? I dont want a fantasy world. My reality is struggle and break my back to earn just enough for us to get by with a few luxeries. What i want is a equal society where laws are not passed to fit a agenda. My dad always told me to get a education. He didnt tell me how was going pay for it , I never got passed the 10th grade anyway.

  • @aflores621sj Yes the Progressive Liberal agenda was laid out quite well by many of their founding fathers. Mao, Lenin, Che'. Your being told you can have those thing by voting for the right leaders. they would be the elitist who lead you kids around by your noses, like Cenk. He's doing great, got a new Gig on MSNBC, making money hand over fist. I wonder how much he'll share with you ? Wanna bet me he'll try running for office one day. He knows where the real money is !

  • @hobo59 So who should we be voting for? The Republicans? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA good one

  • @Xerxes4242 You can vote for who ever you want. All I'm doing is showing you people that no matter who you vote for they are all Capitalists. They're are running because they want the power, prestige and the $ MONEY $. So no matter what Cenk says on camera to you, he'll do just the same as any other person and go where ever the money leads him !

  • @hobo59 I doubt he would change his agenda though, if he ran for office. He actually shows passion in wanting to change, wanting to progress this nation. Though I have been wrong before. Not always, but I have.

  • @edeal86 He talks a lot about how everyone else should do this or that to help the poor etc... Yet he is just like all the other people out there. We are all driven by our own greed. When it comes down to it, he'll follow the money just like anyone else. Mother Teresa he's not. Mind you I don't fault him for that. But I do fault him for taking advantage of a lot of naive Idealist kids, only to further his money hungry career. I'm 51, do you know how many times I've seen this same thing ?

  • @hobo59 I actually agree with you on your standpoint. Money has an overbearing effect on people. Just as religion did in the dark ages. I came to that conclusion before I even hit puberty. As such it is safer not to trust anyone, which is impossible with our current political system.

  • @edeal86 Absolutely true my friend, absolutely true. It is such a shame, but there's no public figure now days who is really worthy of any man's trust. Whatever happened to the Roy Rogers, John Waynes, and Sgt York's of the world ?

  • @hobo59 toolicious!

  • Awe are they taking away, more free handouts, poor libturds !

  • @hobo59 Free handouts? Are you part of the top 2%, or the working class? I'm going to assume your part of the working class. Dont you realize were all struggling for the same goal, its to survive. Dont be manipulated into believing that there can be those of us who are better than others. Just because of your big house or mediocre wealth. We are all in the same boat

  • @aflores621sj Socialism has failed in every experiment. With out work there is no incentive. Sure the gooberment can give us free food and health care and shelter and clothes. But I want good food, I want good health care, I want my own house, I want to wear my choice of clothes. Have you ever been to a socialist country ? It's hard to get a taxi, do you know why ? If you dress like a tourist they'll stop but otherwise ! Choice, being able to dream of a better life. Socialism kills those !

  • Comment removed

  • @hobo59 "Socialism has failed in every experiment.," did you put alot of thought into that comment ? Hugo Chavez is an example to a working socialist country. Do you honestly believe that capitalism is gong to be able to sustain itself ? For many years our government has used its inntelligance to assist in coups on socialisti countries Why such in interst ? If American public where to relaize that the picture they painted of socializm/communism was all lies.

  • @aflores621sj Greed will win in every instance just as it always has. Greed isn't bad, greed is what dreams are made of. W/O greed, who would get up and go to work, you ? LOL Mother Teresa your not !

  • @hobo59 Yes you are right I am not a person that has conformed to societies rules (no mother Teresa) and I agree greed will infect our ways of life. You must have me read wrong I go to work to survive. If I dont work we dont eat.

  • It does not say much for the American people that public opinion appears to favour Republicans in the upcoming elections.

  • @forgetititititit I don't know whether you brit niggers have gotten the clue but here I spell it out for you, America couldn't care any less about what you and the rest of the world thinks of us on that high horse of yours. Never have and never will, unlike brits Americans aren't insecure about their identy and need to go around pointing out flaws that others have, quite clearly we leave that to the brits ;).

  • @realcoolboy17 HAHAHAHAHA they're the ones that need to get off the high horse?

  • voting republican if you are middle class or poor equals stupidity period wake up America

  • If the dems were smart they could capitalize on this and make it a major point of the election. The key part of that statement is "if."

  • the repubs killed did it for the same reason they do anything:

    Its a good idea

if ppl get a jobs then they no longer rely on welfare (good idea)

  • @randyvac01 Billy? How did you get out of your cell? Put your straight jacket back on.

  • @randyvac01 Learn to spell words correctly and then we might take you seriously. I mean we all know its hard for you to do that when you banging your head on the key board becuase you can't use your words to express yourself.

  • @randyvac01 You're an idiot.

  • This is bullshit the republicans are not bastards i have been a republican since i was in the ninth grade when i realized that our schools were teaching us to hate our country, hate the military, and hate republicans. I support welfare only if its for people who have jobs and pay taxes. Why should people who pay no taxes get welfare; if their given one of these welfare help jobs they should have to pay taxes. I work why should i pay taxes when they don't. Only 48% of Americans pay taxes.

  • @randyvac01 We all pay taxes, it just depends what taxes ;) . At any rate, I agree with you. I'm an Air Force brat, and grew up overseas with my father in the military. But, blind patriotism should not lead us to unnecessary conclusions. We should help our countrymen, by giving them a fair wage and honest wage. As long as it's available, we should not have welfare. But if we cannot provide that service, we should not pay for welfare. Its sick how the left hate conservatives just out of ideology.

  • @groam6666 are you a supporter of the left or right, i not being mean but i just wondering because you channel says your a left leaning person

  • @randyvac01 I am left leaning in the American sense, but I'm actually a European Conservative, in that I think it's most important for governments to serve the publics interests first and foremost. America's case, in my opinion, is tricky and to support my beliefs would go against the principles on what America was founded on. It's like if I would go to Iran and tell them how to live, even though it's not part of their political culture. Most Americans do not like big gov, because its corrupt.

  • @randyvac01 Every country is different, and in my opinion, America is a case where limited government is best. I of course mean the correct laws that are enforcable and efficient should be in place. Unfortunatlly, the American 'left', if I may, believe that more regulation is better, like a command economy, but it's not true. Too distinguish between practical solutions and moral ones is a plaque on America's political system. BTW, I was born and raised overseas, but I am American by any reason.

  • ... as if the Democrats behave ANY differently, please!

The jig is up, both parties will put their own personal welfare ahead of what's best for America... and so do ALL of the citizens; everybody is out to get theirs, it all dicks and no holes.

Fuck this country, fuck this political system. It's shit... stop buying it.

  • We need a Julius Caeser.

  • @CapitalistOverlord An Augustus Caeser wouldn't be bad either.

  • @M0US3P0T4TO

Pax Romana, baby. Nobody did it better.

  • It's all a plot to make Obama look back in 2012 so they can put Sarah Palin in the White House. Filibusterer everything the Democrats try to pass so they can pass nothing, can fix nothing, and then run campaign ads as the next election nears showing "how the democrats" screwed everything up. It's a scam. Plain and simple.

  • I hate welfare to work programs. We have it in Germany and it's another way to get slave labor. They are called Euro jobs, because you get paid 1 Euro an hour, so you can get welfare. You spend money to get to work, since your typically not in the town the where the work is. It hits single parents the most, in the U.S. the program would make single mothers with children ages 6+ to work. It's the wrong way to address welfare reform, because again... it's slave labor.

  • Got to wonder if all these filibusters will screw them over, if enough people realize what they are doing they might lose all support Obama's been giving them.

  • @wolfwing1 the real "democrats" should just make an ad, stating the stats on how many of their own bills the republicans filibustered. The numbers will probably be louder than just moaning about it. and the Democrats need to clean up their own house...

  • It's a simple calculation. Corporations know the American people are retards with the attention span of a gnat who have already forgotten what Bush/Cheney did to America. They know that if they can make the US crash and burn while Obama is President, Americans will blame Obama and the Democrats opening the door for a corporate-friendly Republican administration in the future.

I hope they succeed because nobody deserves a Republican administration more than the American people.

  • Republicans suck dog balls. My boss makes over $250,000 & he's not creating any jobs BECAUSE the republicans can't be trusted to vote for anything else that may help small business owners. They are doing what they were paid to do by lobbyists for rich CEOs. If you believe otherwise you are daft.

  • Another "Republicans are evil" clip. I know you want to blame Republicans for EVERYTHING, but sometimes little things like FACTS get in the way. For example Democratic Party got super majority in both houses. They also control the white house. Facts are stubborn little things.

    Cenk is a born liar.

  • I always say if you are a republican because you believe you will get rich - it's just the same as believing if you blow your dumb ass up you will get 72 virgins. But nobody ever accused the republicans voters to be a group of thinkers.

  • i had a friend who was on that program she got a job after her time was up and now she makes a decent wage ($23.00) at a law firm. So take away a program that helps people get the exp. they need to lvl up in life and youll have a bunch of noobs running around asking for hand outs...

  • Like this comment if you'd like to see a link to the sources of the news they inform us about.

Really, it'd save me some time since I watch almost every video you guys at TYT upload.

  • The problem is how many of these people who don't stay informed will blame the democrats and go vote for republicans now. That is the whole plan behind republican politics.

  • Republicans don't want programs that work! They want to fuck everything up. Duh.

  • Dam i rly wanted that

  • The GOP solely exist to play political games and get one over on their opponents - they don't care about anyone who isn't in the top 2%, and you can take that to the bank.

  • @tehant1liberal "the Republicans want to create American jobs and balance the budget." I'm sorry, but that statement is pure, utter, fucking bullshit. Here's a hint: How about you actually look at the data for jobs and the deficit for the last time span Republicans were in charge? Google, I hear, is a very useful tool.

  • @tehant1liberal you mean thanks to bush we have a 1.5 trillion dollar deficit because obama only added the last 300-500 billion dollars. also if tax cuts worked then why the recession? even with a stock market collapse a strong economy can and would recover very quickly but because the middle class pay is stagnant while the rich become richer (because of those tax cuts) the economy was too weak and the recession happened

  • Voting is like Driving. To go forward you must select 'D'. To go back, select 'R'. (Sometimes D is like putting it in 1st. But its still better than going backwards.)

Bush took the family car on a drunken joyride for 8 years and left it in a ditch. It will take some time to get the car out and fix all the damage. Until then, only adults will be allowed to drive.

  • At least Republicans can get elected even after driving America into bankruptcy, it's because they have Fox News, Obama has TYT, sometimes, MSNBC, sometimes, its own Senators, sometimes, Republicans are onside 24/7 to get where they are going. Evil wins over good again and again in American because their weak remain weak and the Evil remains strong.

  • @derberg19486

Man is born in sin & shape in iniquity(evil). So it's pretty much inhenernt that those people who are in power inevitably create misery & unhappiness for others.

Unfortunately there is a significant portion of our population who seem to enjoy watching others suffer & will continually vote these "conservatives" into office every time, be they Conservative Republicans or Conservative Democrats.

The more times have changed, the more they stay the same.

  • The GOP is the party of the devil! They are mean, nasty, dumb and they are keeping Barack Obama from being the greatest president ever! Barack even explain to us how he loves being a Christian!

  • Anyone still wanna argue that the Republican party gives a shit about people who are not rich, particularly the poor?

It seems like they're going to keep striking down bills that the majority were in favor of until there is nothing left. You really can't survive as a party if you're only going to approve of the things non=Republicans are against. They're not only separatists, but they want to take credit for everything just to retain their lost popularity.

  • @Relyt22 Seriously. I mean, WTF is on the Republicans' minds with this? This was such a "right-wing-friendly" policy and now they want to kill it? Obama could be like "CUT TAXES ALL DAY, FOR EVERYONE! NO MORE SPENDING EVER!" and they'd still be like "KILL THE BILL!" ... how can they be so transparent and yet get over so much?

  • Schwang wang wang!

  • Cenk I'm totally with you! The smart people can see right through these pathetic destruction attempts by the GOP. Hopefully we have ENOUGH smart people though.

  • dammit, we either need to have referendums or make lobbyists illegal.

  • the republicans will destroy America no matter the cost, they will sap all the money out of us that they can, then leave for Asia or another place such as that then crumble their economy then move on to the next area, they are parasites and leeches who do not deserve to live.

  • Kill EVERYTHING that comes your way even if it goes hand-in-hand with the fundamental core beliefs of our party. The more we say "no", the worse the Democrats look, and it will give US the highground in the realm of public opinion. We will get all that stuff taken care of when we get right men in the right offices. The Dems may have the driver's seat but we have the map.

    - Joe Wilson (R) SC at an election finance and strategy meeting Dec. 15th '09.

  • As bad as the Democrats are you have to be a fucking idiot to vote for the Republicans. That's like sheep voting for wolves because they dislike foxes.

Anybody who honestly thinks there will be more jobs or higher income under a Republican Congress or President has been asleep for the past 30 years.

  • @A86 Excellent comment!

  • @A86 thats like deciding whats the worst cancer

  • The GOP are just looking for votes, they dont give a damn about %98 of the American people.

  • @donroche

"Cenk is funny but still massively biased to be called news or a political commentator."

How massively biased? Cause he's bashed the Democrats and Obama more than one time and not so gently either.

  • @Coraxuss - he's a progressive. not a "democrat" not a "republican".

Yes, he has clear ideas how things should be run. However, he does not distort facts. And on this point he's clearly different from Fox and also from the mainstream mediamonopoly. These are private companies and not neutral at all. As can be seen from their incomplete or even factually wrong reports. TYT, Democracynow and only a handful of others bring real facts. They have to, since they're competing.

  • @reptilespantoso

I see your points so no arguments there. I just hoped we have lots of people like Cenk going out on the internet and on mainstream media to "filibuster" lies and propaganda machines like Faux News. I'm surprised that Conservative medias like Faux News hasn't started to attack the TYT, but then again they might actually have a brain and realize that by doing so would make TYT and Progressives alike even stronger.

  • @donroche

look up Media bias, specifically types of bias on wiki, then ask yourself again if cenk is really massively biased?

  • Hey democrats. ya hear that? GET UP PUSSYS! FIGHT! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!

  • You know.... The worst political structure I experienced was in Russia 1992-1998. The corruption was absolute, EVERYONE was corrupted. But i still like it more than the current US situation. Old post perestrojka system was corrupted, wicked, gain based. The current one in US is just plain gain based-evil. This world is sad.

  • If a Canadian political party or politician tried to kill welfare-to-work-extension they be kicked out so fast that their heads would spin.

  • I'm an American by birth, but dear god am i glad i dont live there!

  • this is typical of a party that stands for NOTHING

  • Republicans should be TOAST

  • People who vote republican are retarded scum.

  • America is in a terrible, terrible tailspin. :\

  • @donroche He mentions that in many other full-shows on theyoungturksDOTcom. It's one of his main gripes with the Dems as they stand now.

  • Wow I never heard of this program but it's such a good idea that''s the problem tough people cannot get a job if they have no experience doing this is BRILLIANT!!!

  • @upplsuckimcool16 I agree, but the point is that they move off the government programs into real work. But as Zig Ziglar says, "the major problem with people is once they get a job, they stop looking."

Now they might have been in favor of it a year ago, but maybe it isn't producing the results, even more so if people aren't moving into private sector jobs, and why would they? government is easy street.

  • The Work Opportunity Tax Credit benefits 12 target groups including ex-convicts who are eligible to get hired, vets and the disabled. It would not be a good thing to get rid of this program. However many jobs are being held by the target groups and "others" are unable to find work because the jobs are awarded to the target groups. It's a catch 22 :(. BTW we all know it would be extra cash in the politicians' pockets if the program was discontinued. I hate politics.

  • @EmpressNimra completely agree with you. So the best way to fix that though would be to reduce taxes and force budget cuts. Once we start cutting things like parks, then salaries will come out. About how this senator earns X dollars from congress but closes a park. But as long as you continue to increase taxes and not cut spending, that will never come up and we will never hit the real issues.

  • Something is wrong with the Democrats message and PR teams! I can't imagine the Republican not coming out with a way to destroy Democrats if the roles were reversed.

Cenk is completely right that the Democrats are whispering when they need to be using a megaphone. Because the American people for the most part are deft and are more keen on demonstrations of strength and conviction rather than logical arguments. It's sad really!

  • @Temuzin11

That's right. This, coupled with the outsourcing bill should provide the Dems with tons of ammo to run "Republicans against employment" adds. They must have the worst PR teams on the planet.

  • Politician is just another word for thief

  • @donroche if you did your research you would find the Cenk is as critical of the Dems as he is on the Repub.

  • It is time to do away with this party system and make everyone run and legislate as an independent actually representing the people who elected them.

  • @donroche If you listened to the show more often, you'd know that exactly this point is one of Cenk's main bug-bears with the Democrats; they are all in the pockets of big money...

  • What can we do? Does all this politic news every make you just want to give up? There is so much power on the hill what can we really do? Even if we keep the democrats in office - they don't help us. What is happening with America?

  • I think the GOP wants to fulfill their self-proclaimed prophecy that states, "people who collect welfare are worthless pieces of shit who are too lazy to get off their asses".

Well, newsflash GOP, I would like to see one of you live off of how extremely little welfare gives. Noone wants to be on it.

The lady down my street has severe diabetes and is in her 60s, and gets a whopping $16 in food stamps a month...yeah, whomever thinks that you can live off of welfare must have their head examined.

  • Untruth, Injustice, and the Republican Way....

  • I think its about time for Representative Weiner to come out and start yelling again.

  • Is there any hope for american people when these assholes keep thinking only they own pay checks?

  • DON'T HOLD BACK, CENK! TELL IT LIKE IT IS!!

  • Look it's the Democrat's job to accumulate a surplus every 4 years and the Republican's jobs to give it all to the top 2% of America. Why is it that hard to understand

  • @frictionRx5

I hope you are being sarcastic!

  • @frictionRx5

the repcons are the PARTY OF NO, dumbass

  • To save America, the conservatives are willing to destroy it.

  • So, let me make sure I understand. Welfare is ok for the top 2%, but welfare to work is a problem?

  • Fucking shame

  • I hate republicans but welfare to work is a sorry program. It basically takes mostly single mothers off welfare, a good thing, and buses them off, usually many miles away to a very low-paying job, and their daycare costs that were once zero are now at least half of their income. So what happens is they work and still get some forms of assistance, enough that the program for many, not all, isn't worth it. Until jobs are abundant and wages go up a program like this will never be a good answer.

  • @TheUSMetalhead and scrapping it totally makes sense in what way? if it isn't perfect then either party should have just amend it. that would be more effective to win votes anyway

  • These elections are getting very ugly. Its just screaming scandal.

  • It can only happen during the finale 2 months of an election year; republicans acting like boneheads.

  • Democrats are weak, gutless, spineless cowards. They won't get my vote until they start kicking some ass. The American people are tired of this nice guy shit. Start fighting fire with fire. I couldn't care less what the Republicans do, but I'll be damn'd if I go stand in line to vote for a Democrat.

When Americans stop voting Dem/Repub then they'll see change. You idiots having recognized yet these people are playing for the same team ???

  • @Jay20782 If you aren't going to support those strong Dems, for whom are you planning on voting for? An even weaker third party which will split the splintered Liberal/Progressive votes even more?

  • @IcyKitty Yes, or perhaps even staying home. Why vote for individuals who we know are going to get in and play games? I respect Grayson, but he is one strong fish in a pond of political scum. Obama gave us his ass to kiss and Repubs hate the non-wealthy.

  • @Jay20782 But staying at home is only going to allow someone who I can't stand win. The working poor like me has no one anymore, but I will be damned if I am going to sit back and let the Republican give more and more money to themselves

  • People were laughing at me when I said that the Republicans threw the National election by putting up McCain/Palin and they were waiting for the economy to crash and then in the mid-term they would pick up shitloads of seats. Republicans are patience and can do a lot of damage to the weak Dems in two years.

  • republicans filibuster EVERYTHING because they have the mentality of three year old children.

  • @TheProf1988 because the Repubs know the majority of Dems are weak and will not stand up to them. If the Dems thought they have that kind of power (which they do but are afraid of using it) then they would do the same thing

  • @TheProf1988 no they filibuster everything b/c they have a brilliant but evil plan. they are trying to make Obama and Dems look as incompetent as possible by obstructing everything, so that when elections come around they can say "Obama didn't do anything, vote Republican!!" and all of the uneducated citizens will be frustrated and vote for them. it's a smart plan, but it's all about money and power, which only benefits them and screws over the rest of us.

  • @Cuddlebunzzz I completely agree with what you said, but even though we went through all this I'm not even frustrated with the demecrates as much as I frustrated with the idiotes that will go out and vote republican just because they watch fox news oops I meant fox (lies) and didn't try to make the effort to research and find the truth.

  • Building decent employment history is the BEST way to get those down and out, back on their feet.

The neo-cons, and tea baggers love to talk about the "lazy taking a vacation on UE benefits", but when there's a plan to make people work, they still block it?

Let's name names. We'll start with Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), who blocked request to bring up the bill.

  • The only problem with being a liberal, is

that the taxpayers money eventually will run out.

Actually, it's already run out. But what the fuck, extend all of the payouts. It makes us feel better.

  • @bobbytiger "the taxpayers money eventually will run out"

So you are willing to lower military spending?

  • @ManicEightBall

    Absolutely.

  • @bobbytiger The big problem is that the US tax base is being eroded away with endless tax cuts for the rich.

  • @dangerouslytalented

Many people believe as you do.

    Others take an opposing view.

  • @bobbytiger Supply side economics only concentrates money into the hands of the wealthy, while giving them no impetus to create jobs, exacerbating this wealth transfer.

  • Why are Republicans set to win big in November?? welfare to work is called employment, man the Dems really cut their own throats by getting rid of organizations like Acorn I hope they are happy!! not saying only folks who look to Acorn for assistance are on welfare but, just imagine if Acorn was around to rally those po folks around work fare.

  • It's becoming pretty obvious that republicans hate the poor and the middle class. They should all be tried and executed on the spot.

  • republican'ts being sneaky again...not surprised.

  • as someone applying for Social Security Dissability, I can't work. Thus WELfare.

  • i had the legs pulled out from under me by the tabc. they're out of their fucking minds if they think this will endear me to anything right-wing.

  • I'm truly disgusted.

  • The republican strategy to rule America : Eliminate every job in the USA, so that the people will starve to death, and not be able to vote against them anymore. So far, it seems to be working.

  • republicans should be labeled enemies of the state
