This glitch happens once you reach 750 gamer score you get the katana at 800 gamer score and you can get recon buy getting all vidmasters don't count trust me i don't have all 7 vidmasters i only 1 in halo 3 and 1 in halo 3 odst and i have recon even check my serves record on bungie.net my gt is Wolf with Recon.

It's not a glitch, the amount of gamerscore has to be 1000 and you have to have 49 achievments.

that happed to me too. I only had 44 acheivements and I just scrolled through my armour and found it. at it stayed all the time. I tried exiting the armour selection page, signing out then back in, even turning off my console and it was still there. lucky me :P

when bungie first made the game you had to get only 30 achievements but when they updated it to 40 achievements ages ago i didn't actually update everyone console properly so some peoples consoles still retain there old updates. some times though if you get more achievements the console realists that you haven't actually unlocked the Armour and re locks it. so try not to get any more achievements or unlock all the old halo 3 achievements to keep the Armour.

I just noticed I have the security helmet and katana. I've had all but three of the original 49 achievements for months but just recently went over 1000 in halo 3, and now I have it.
