I heard that fpr his next projects, he'll start experimenting with game mechanics. Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon were for him to get back in touch with the traditional mechanics and to focus on story.

Also heard that he's hoping to turn LO into a franchise like FF, except with less on the Disney spin-offs and keep it with the old FF tradition of stand-alone worlds and games. Though, BD is getting a direct sequel, so I'm kind of hoping for LO to have a sequel as well.
