I love your examples :) I already made that rule that if i want something then just eat a bit but i still have the awful guilt that I'm doing something wrong. But try my best to know this is to eat in moderation.
definitely floodgate!! i'll restrict restrict, and be like 'well i'm doing just fine! tomorrow i can commit" and then i let myself have that bread and butter, and then i'm like "hey that chocolate is looking good" and then it never ends...even when im so stuffed it hurts.
@doubtfuldreamer Oh I'm sorry you are finding it hard to do while losing weight. I'm wondering if you might be restricting the sugar and that could be leading to the craving? Do you feel a little nervous or anxious about having a cookie? I lost all of my weight eating this way...so it is possible I'm wondering if there is something else (possibly one of the other 5 non hunger eating (NHE) going on) because this one is only the solution for the 1st type of NHE...
Josie, tks so much for another great video! I loved your examples! Feeling unsatisfied with meal is the worst! But it happens when I don't even know what I wanna eat:( so I just keep eating until I'm full!
@elissams So nice of you to say...thank YOU! Ah I know that place where you just sort of keep trying one thing..then another...and there is a sort of nervousness in your stomach and you feel full and yet totally unsatisfied!!!
I think mine is flood gate, expecially the other day i totally blew my diet and ate sooo much windys french fries and frosty like there was no tomorro and i felt horrible but now im trying what you are suggesting and ive realized i never crave anything that much anymore at all and the first 2 days all i had when i was hungry was a little peice of peanut butter cake and ate till i was satisfied for breakfast, lunch and dinner and now i look at cake and do not feel like it at all so:P
@jokerjelly Ah I love that! Isn't it amazing and sort of really powerful to see the cake taken down from its pedestal and just become a piece of food again? That is such a great example, and if you would have forbidden it I bet it would have been calling to you all day...by the way peanut butter cake sounds amazing!! Ah thanks so much for sharing this...I love hearing these stories!!!
I remember standing in front of an open refrigerator and shoveling everything eatable (or not so eatable anymore) down my throat.... faster, faster... and than the morning guilty talk... well, it was not an every day thing, but it happened more often, than I would admit. Now I don't care, or at least try not to. All of a sudden everything seems so less tempting. Thanks for reminding me of the story about the forbidden fruit :) You ARE an inspiration!
I find Hunger Directed Eating SO DIFFICULT. It sounds amazing but I keep messing up because I'll get hungry, eat what I want, feel satisfied and then a friend will call me and be like "hey lets go get some ice cream" or "lets go see a movie, we'll share a popcorn" and I never say no because I don't wanna lose my social life.
*feeling unsatisfied with meal. definitely. These days, I am wayyyyy too informed about the chemical contents of basically everything... thus, everytime i make a food choice, my intuition takes charge and I hear all the consequences of eating the one food that I really want. THanks for this Josie!
@Therawfoodie Ah I so know that place! The nutrition chatter that gets so loud! What worked for me was to research how our bodies heal from a papercut...there are like 4 ways we can die if our body didn't send the right blood cells, antibodies etc at the right time..from a papercut.!!.and even though I didn't know ANY of that...EVERY time I had a cut my body took over and repaired it...I remind myself that my "appetite" is part of that same miraculous genius system and it can be trusted...
mostly feeling unsatisfied with meal. The other day i felt like having chocolate. I had already started to follows your tips, so I had stopped dieting. I was going to let myself have the chocolate, except that I didn't have any chocolates with me haha. So I ate a little bit of something else. But it didn't do the trick, so i went for a little bit of another something else. And I just kept on going until I was SO full. Next time I'll get off my lazy butt and go buy the chocolate haha
@breevanazzi Hahaha!! Oh wow that is brilliant! I want to make a t-shirt out of that "get off your bum and buy the chocolate" Geez that nails the point so incredibly well! It sounds so counter-intuitive but it is SO true!!! I love it thanks so much for sharing that...totally made me laugh!
I think,I have all three :( !!!!!!!!!!!
Really do like your videos,a bit sceptical but still with hope-might this all will help me :)
Just confused where to start ????

This is hard to do when you're in the process of losing weight as well. If I eat a cookie.. my next three days my meals will crave that sugar.

josielenore 7 months ago

for me, floodgate is definitely the worst part, but my real problem is kinda like a bad combination of all three..
thank you so much for supporting all of us, you are such a great inspiration for me!
