  • I just looked him up in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. My search produced no results! He has to be in there. Such an incredible catalog of songs. Got to meet and talk with him once outside his tour bus (Sonny Landreth too). What nice guys, real down to earth.

  • I so agree with tgear77. It is a shame that people don't know who john hiatt is.

Yet they have heard his songs, sung by others.

A friend of mine turned me onto John and i have every album he has produced.

    My idol.

  • I went to see him in the 80's at Graffiti in Pittsburgh. He walked right by me when I was in line to get tickets with his son and nobody knew who he was! How does that happen?

  • I like John Hiatt but the Cate Brothers do this song better

  • The CATE BROTHERS do this song much better....

  • Love it!

  • I was hooked on John when I seen him open up for Robert Cray at the Paramont in Springfield MA in the mid to late 80's (don't knowwhenforsure) but I never forgot him and the fun he and the Goners had on stage. Love him

  • This saturday coming up...Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt in Indy. I'll be there!

  • Man this takes me back , i miss everything !!!

  • Always played this when I was VJ'in in LA - I dig Mr John Hiatt - and in the music scene he is very well respected , especially for his writing - Glad he never went too commercial - He remains pure in a world full of less talented celebrity

  • I love him! This song always picks me up!

  • Love this song! I dig the video because the song has a real flying down the open road feel to it! Great travelin; music! Added this to one of vacation drive CDs along with Bruce Hornsby, Jude Cole and others!

  • i love john hiatt and my last name is hiatt maybe a relation

  • Underrated with a capital U.

  • Sweet '66 Ford.

  • I got into JH because he was Ry Cooder's rhythm gtr player but didn't like Slug Line or 2 Bit Monsters. By the time Slow Turning came around he'd really hit his stride as a writer and solo artist.

  • stupid video, great song

  • lol, VHS ftw

  • John is by far my most favored musician and always lifts my spirits! He is way to unrecognized but I change that with every new person I meet!

  • Listen to Bruce Cockburn ( pronounced co burn for those who don't know ) "If A Tree Falls" and you will hear almost identical intro

  • I also saw him perform a few years ago with the North Mississippi Allstars, in Ft. Lauderdale, in a small intimate club. On one hand I couldn't believe my luck. On the other hand I couldn't believe that a person so highly talented wasn't recognized and appreciated more. The same goes for John Prine. What a special night that was.

  • eres el puto amo john

  • Same here, heard this song in 90or91 late night radio and went out and got the cassette the next day. He is flat out one of the best singer/songwriters today and under appreciated! I have had the chance to see him 4 times but a few years ago with the North Mississippi All Stars as his touring band on the city streets of Detroit on a beautiful summer night was one of those that you wish would happen every year!!!

  • My favorite all-time John Hiatt song. This song came about about 6 months after the birth of my second daughter and it became to me a song about her. John's a legendary song-writer.

  • This is the song that hooked me on John 20 yrs. ago. Heard it once and hunted down "Slow Turning" at a record store. Liked it so much I went back two days later and bought "Y'all Caught?". This man should be world famous. It kills me that people know who Billy Ray Cyrus or Taylor Hicks are but ask "Who?" when you mention John Hiatt.

  • i have often wonder why when they talk about great song writers i hardly ever hear john mentioned.Guess that commercial radio for you

  • When you compare how many records this

guy sold to someone like, say Madonna, you

KNOW that life isn't fair. Then again, I

don't think commerical success is foremost

    in John Hiatt's world.

  • Agreed, but nuffing aint easy whats good

  • Great song, and the video enhances the lyrics.

  • we were waiting for you here in finland. hope to here from you soon

  • the woman kind of looks like meg ryan.

    but this song is amazing.

i'm so glad i got to grow up listening to john hiatt.

  • great song, thanks for this!

nice lyrical solo too...Michael Landau I think?

  • John Hiatt's video's do nothing for his recorded material. He is truly one of the great American performers and is best appreciated with a good set of headphones. A real master. Thanks John.

  • I might have to give you this one. I think until getting a little curious today, I have only seen two Hiatt videos, and one performance on Letterman.

  • Oh my god I just found this and he ROCKS!!!

check out "A Crazy Girl Is Hard To Find"

    ace biscuits!!!

  • I have this song on cd, but I never full appreciated it until I saw this video. It's weird/funny. I like it, but I'm not sure why.

  • Yeah, who is she. Probably just a model...?

  • I am so glad this is on YT! Fantastic song, I'll still enjoy 25 years from now

  • I LOVE THIS SONG !!!!!!!! Maybe of 20,000 songs I like this song is in the top 20!!!!

  • Who is the woman?
