To the ppl concerning about recognising the truth: truth is 1..u may believe in something and claim its the truth...erm..not necessarily in the practical, real world. lets gather evidence and weigh them either side..and see which is more heavy..which is more rational, more logical..which is more authentic...the better one..

i guess then we can come to a conclusion..

beside we always look for the better place in every step of our life...so why not the better one when looking for the truth. :)

Since you were watching youtube videos, why didnt you also watch videos where the "miracle" of embryology and many others are debunked. It seemed that the embryology bit was the biggest reason that made you convert, then why not search it thoroughly? See for example (cause there are many videos on this) watch?v=YMT_kNtOTIs

Secondly, what made you think that you had to choose between one of the religions in your life?

@JNiina I am not sure I understand what you mean by why I thought to had the right to chose one of the religions in my life. I believe my “right” comes from free-will, which is something that Allah (God - The same god that Christians and Jewish followers believe in) has instilled in us. Using my right of free-will, I eliminated choices that made little sense to me, the religions I do not believe are real, and made the choice that I felt was right for me- the one I really did believe in.

@talanathas I didnt ask in my question about the right to choose or free will because of course i know already that you have the right to choose. My question came from you saying in your video that you searched for the truth by looking into a lot different religions until you finally chose one. So i asked why you felt you had to pick one religion.

@JNiina ahaa sorry for the misunderstanding :) I don't really know what compelled me to choose. I spent my entire life as agnostic, believing mostly in the goodness of mankind, picking the best parts of many religions and combining them to live life in a respectful way. I'm not sure why I decided to hone in one particular one, or even why I really started reading into it. But once I did I just felt like it was right. Perhapes Truths are different depending on the person.

@JNiina Belief systems are still something that baffle me. And when people ask about my religion, I still hesitate because I’ve gone my whole life ‘against’ organized religion. I still wonder about it now, how I found myself, a open-minded educated person actually accepting that a God exists- and one step beyond that worshipping that God. I was always envious of people with real faith and wondered how they could be so… sure. But that’s the feeling I found with the Quran.

@JNiina As for debunking, you can find lots of information against any point in any religion. After sifting, it comes down to what a person believes is true or not. Despite reading and seeing these 'debunking' videos, I still choose to put my faith in Allah and the Quran- same the way Christians chose to believe that Jesus is the son of God- it's a personal choice, even if there are many evidences against it.

@talanathas Yes you can find lots of information against different religions, i agree. That is also one reason i asked why you thought you had to choose one religion to follow. Because again you said in your video you were searching for the truth but if you choose a religion even if there is evidence against it based upon your personal choice and faith and what pleases you in the end, how can it be called finding the truth?

Thanks for your open-mindedness :) - Also, I 100% agree, Islam and Christianity are similar- when it's boiled down - Both just come down to dedication to God (wish more people would realize this, especially in modern times!)

Do you reckon people will ever reconcile? Religions seem to be something that divide so many people. But I also dont think religion is to blame for everything.

I guess, everything has its good sides and bad sides.

Personally, I am an agnostic, but I like to focus on the positive sides of the religions we have in this world.

@european8316 I have converted- so far I enjoy it immensely! I agree with things having a good and a bad side. I find religion one of those things that bloom based on your interpretation- I have decided to take a balance stance, as in- this is my personal choice and there is no need to preach to those who don’t want to hear it- there is also no need to judge or deem someone else wrong or “bad”.

I think things like religious wars and prejudices are more a product of human nature and politics than the religion itself- if people lived their lives peacefully minding their own business and being productive, instead of trying to control people and exerting power, then the world (regardless religion) would be a much nicer place... but that's just me being optimistic

There is only conformity, submission, indoctrination, and conversion.

"God" is everywhere, but doesn't speak Arabic, didn't have a son that died for humanity's sins, and definitely doesn't have a "chosen people."

I'm fond of the masjid on Leaman Dr in Dartmouth. It's out in the same general area as the Mic Mac. It's smaller, more down to earth, in a quiet neighborhood and the Imam is a very pious brother. That and it's closer to where I live - gas mileage on an old beater truck takes it toll these days.
