Haye is a very good boxer but has a very different style to klitschko. Haye`s style works very well on lighter boxers or very large boxers but not medium sized boxers like Klitschko

Its amazing that no one has exposed Klichko's major weakness and thats fighting backward. he moves straight back and can't move laterally very well.... LOts of fast punches up the middle and push him back to the ropes. NEVER MOVE BACKWARD AGAINST KLICHKO!!! LATERAL IS BETTER BUT forward is how you win the fight!!!
@tatertots00 He didn't win every single round. You'd have to be extremely biased against Haye to believe that he lost the 3rd and 12th rounds. In those rounds he still took shots but he definitely won them. And although Wlad won most of the rounds he won them mainly based on the volume of punches, the only round he won strong was the 5th, and Haye landed more power punches in the fight. Wlad won a wide decision but to say that he won THAT convincingly you're only kidding yourself.
Badass fight. David Haye can really box. Even though he "lost: the fight on the cards, he made Wladimir Klitschko look BAD a lot of times in this bout.
Was a pretty even chess match for the most part to the unbiased boxing fan. David's stock didn't drop at all for me here.

He controlled the fight with his massive reach advantage and undeniably phenomenal jabbing technique( one of the best of all time in my opinion.) Personally I think this while a masterful fighting strategy, makes his fights predictable and boring. He needs to be challenged, Haye was simply not good enough.

I believe Haye came in too light for his fight. His speed is a great asset but he was always going to be faster than Klitschko, I think he needed more power to increase his chance of winning. I also think that his injury did have a big impact; at the end of the first round you can already see him limping as he walks back to his corner and it's probably the reason he kept flopping on the floor in the later rounds. Well, that and Wlad pushing down on him. Full credit to Wlad still.

@lucky44124 Maybe the next batch of rookie heavyweights can change that, you never know, boxing is a cyclical sport, there have been weak periods before, such as the 1950s before Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier came, and the early 80s before Mike Tyson,Evander Holyfield,David Tua, and Lennox Lewis came. Its harder to find athletic 200 lb man than it is a skinny 150 lb man, thats why the lowerweight classes are always competitive and always fun to watch.

I think they went into Football and other sports so I think thats a unspoken reason american didnt box. Ive been watching Boxing since 1978 so I have seen allot of era's of boxing. This era is the close to Larry Holmes era. But Holmes was way better of a fighter! In Holmes Era guys like George Foreman retired to avoid fighting him. But with these 2 mixed with guys not getting into boxing as much and they are more getting into MMA. It's just dead. Haye is a very good boxer but has a very different style to klitschko. Haye`s style works very well on lighter boxers or very large boxers but not medium sized boxers like Klitschko

Its amazing that no one has exposed Klichko's major weakness and thats fighting backward. he moves straight back and can't move laterally very well.... LOts of fast punches up the middle and push him back to the ropes. NEVER MOVE BACKWARD AGAINST KLICHKO!!! LATERAL IS BETTER BUT forward is how you win the fight!!!

@tatertots00 He didn't win every single round. You'd have to be extremely biased against Haye to believe that he lost the 3rd and 12th rounds. In those rounds he still took shots but he definitely won them. And although Wlad won most of the rounds he won them mainly based on the volume of punches, the only round he won strong was the 5th, and Haye landed more power punches in the fight. Wlad won a wide decision but to say that he won THAT convincingly you're only kidding yourself.

Badass fight. David Haye can really box. Even though he "lost: the fight on the cards, he made Wladimir Klitschko look BAD a lot of times in this bout.
Was a pretty even chess match for the most part to the unbiased boxing fan. David's stock didn't drop at all for me here.

I still respect David Haye for having the gutts to face Wladimir because I think its not the winning that counts its how you play the game and David Haye and Wladimir Klitschko both did their homework and showed an epic battle for respect. He controlled the fight with his massive reach advantage and undeniably phenomenal jabbing technique( one of the best of all time in my opinion.) Personally I think this while a masterful fighting strategy, makes his fights predictable and boring. He needs to be challenged, Haye was simply not good enough.

David did alot of trash talking which was apauling which made Wlad angry and more focused and yeah I think David Haye made an idiotic mistake, he shouldnt have fought Wlad streight away, he should have had 4 more fights before he prepared for Wlad and now David is a boxing clown but I respect him for going toe to toe with Wlad because noone his size never had.

I believe Haye came in too light for his fight. His speed is a great asset but he was always going to be faster than Klitschko, I think he needed more power to increase his chance of winning. I also think that his injury did have a big impact; at the end of the first round you can already see him limping as he walks back to his corner and it's probably the reason he kept flopping on the floor in the later rounds. Well, that and Wlad pushing down on him. Full credit to Wlad still.

@lucky44124 Maybe the next batch of rookie heavyweights can change that, you never know, boxing is a cyclical sport, there have been weak periods before, such as the 1950s before Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier came, and the early 80s before Mike Tyson,Evander Holyfield,David Tua, and Lennox Lewis came. Its harder to find athletic 200 lb man than it is a skinny 150 lb man, thats why the lowerweight classes are always competitive and always fun to watch.

I think they went into Football and other sports so I think thats a unspoken reason american didnt box. Ive been watching Boxing since 1978 so I have seen allot of era's of boxing. This era is the close to Larry Holmes era. But Holmes was way better of a fighter! In Holmes Era guys like George Foreman retired to avoid fighting him. But with these 2 mixed with guys not getting into boxing as much and they are more getting into MMA. It's just dead. Sad to say because I was a fan, but these 2 have BORED The Pants off the casual fan, mixed with fighters affraid to fight each other.
