he is a fucking sell out, hes grabbed the bitch side of rap, like eminem they all do it, they only say what the bigger population want to hear now, its all about the money never was about the fans, eminem has just turned to shite its a shame, role modles like this were good because they always talked about what they wanted to but are now just saying what bent shots who out number the rap fan fair, £ signs get stuck in their eyes
@dajer09 he claims he's releasing a new album next year that he recognises will sell far fewer copies than his most recent because it's far less mainstream, but he's doing it just because he loves the music.as a result of that he's also left his record label, who refused to support his new album, but wanted more soul stuff. not sure you can generalise as hard as you have.
@dajer09 "all about the money never was about the fans" - why the fuck should an artist care about what their fans think? Surely that makes them more of a sell out than money itself. After all, it's the fans who support the artist and earn them money. No, art is about an expression of feeling and emotion, not about impressing your following.
PLAN B IS A LIVING LEGEND. no one else can do or come close to anything he does. he is great artist rapper, soul singer and much more to come. For those people sayin he sold out no he hasnt he is doin what needs to be done to get big and compairing him to enimem, there is no comparison they are both individual and unique perfomers and have different styles
whoever says that plan b is the british eminem is fucking insulting eminem. has plan b ever heard of internal rhyme or compund syllable. has he fuck. hes got no good punchlines, hes got nothing to bring to the table, weak weak weak weak. i listened to his first album and it made me angry cause hes passing himself off has someone with talent..now all you plan b fans text me your hatred if you want. i welcome it
@jimbillinski you sound like a right retard bet your a homosexual with mental problems and have a low opinion of yourself so you come online to argue with people to hide your weaknesses in your character. why would he want to be a british eminem hes rubbish no talent carnt rap bet you love him dont you and touch your tail when you listen to him whats your number ill text you you insecure fat wigga like others have said you came here to hunt his music out and yes you are a bell end virgin
@littlesthoboable actually i looked his video up cause i wanted to hear from his dillisional fans. i might be retarded but it didn;t stop your mam from sucking my dick. and yeah arguing over artists is so scary that i have to go online to do it. u muppet, i would gladly shout it from the rooftops. he might not want to be called the british eminem but some dillusional twats are saying he is. plan b is fucking talentless. and you like talentless wankers. music is a democracy
@jimbillinski talentless? yeah, he's talentless... thats why he gets his songs played on the radio and TV and you're on here bitching. have you listened to some of his lyrics? i wouldnt say hes on the same level as eminem, but i can at least give credit when it's due... this guy is super talented, you sound like a 'Stan' who goes around getting all defensive when someone mentions eminem on a non eminem related vid. i bet you bitch about this on Devlins videos too huh?
@FutureArnoldIWish yeah i,ve listened to every track on his first album and compared to a lot of rappers out there hes mediocre in my opinion, but the singles he released on his second album are alright, i think he should sing and just forget about rapping fullstop.. and i ain't no stan either, but it was an insult to call him the british eminem., and no i haven;t looked up devlin stuff
@jimbillinski Yeah i cant see how he's the british eminem except from the fact that they're both white. Almost every white british rapper gets called the british eminem on here... its annoying, its like they just look at skin colour and what kinda music they perform and stereotype them straight away... well everyone has an opinion, i know where you're comin' from when you say stick to singing too... but i love his old stuff so im glad he started out as a grime/ rap artist
@jimbillinski 410,000 people listen to this song JUST on Youtube and you are 1 of the 13 retards that didn't like it. Plan B talent less? And that makes you? Plan B is 1 of the greatest British artists of the last 10 years you talk shit
@zaxyamble yeah cz I don't remember puttin it so I was obviously drunk and don't try talk like your hard you little faggot talkin shit over youtube cz your too much of a pussy to go out n say sumit to someones face ya little no life go do sumit with ya life instead of makin yaself look a prick. thankyou bye bye nowwwwww
he has a passion for music and express' the way he feels throughout his career in his earlier years when life shit on him he expressed it in songs like these but as you make it you get a sense of achievement so good it changes your mood which explains why he now makes happier songs such as she said.
he aint selling out on no-one he's just always been doing what he loves! This geezer is a fucking role model to anyone who had a rough upbringing!
@xXPreciousLilyWiteXx no problem, also if you like grime listen to professor green, his old mixtape 'lecture number 1' is good and also his album ' alive till im dead' :)
@MegaFunkymonkey21 I already have that album lol but I'll deffo check out the mixtape. Ive checked out Devlin and Akala and I have Rascals Boy In Da Corner album but I might check out more of his older stuff. Thanks again x
This guy is a fucking genius, this album was a hidden gem, yes his last album has gone to a different genre but the lyrics are as powerful as ever! he's grown up and realised that he can get his messages accross without the need for such volent references, however, if anyone listens and interpretats the last album in the same way as the first you will realise that it still has the same meaning and soul but in a language that radio 2 listeners lap up and buy his records!!!! end of rant!!!
If anything he did the opposite of selling out he went with a completely different genre of music and it worked brilliantly this bloke is a genius besides his next album (ballad of belmarsh) will be a hip hop album cannot wait :D
Plan B did not sell out. It was a natural evolution. Im getting a bit tired of people who talk about selling out when people are famous and actually get recognition. This is what they are all working towards...He wrote his songs, he got famous. Versatility in a highly competitive industry is key, and this kid has versatility. He is varied as they come, rapper , singer, song writer. So no, he did not sell out. He just made it.
@salmanc1 Plan B is not even partaking in 'natural evolution' he said on a interview once he is attemping to master every genre, hes done his grime/rap/hip hop, just done soul, which happened to be where most people liked him, he mentioned reggae, he's just expressing his talent
@salmanc1 totally agree with your it was a progressive movement, it shows his talent that he can change his music without losing its impact and effectiveness anyone who says his new music is shit merely because its not like his old music is a mug.
@salmanc1 I agree with you that Plan B progressed in a way that worked well and I can actually imagine was his own choice not purely made for cash. The same way I feel about Pro. Green, however people like Example who were lyrically genius have now just given up and are making generich house for peng.
It's a shame, out of the three of them when they were younger it was Example I rated the most and now, well now he's no one, just vocals on a dance track.
He didn't "sell out", he likes Soul, and so he released a concept album under that theme. After it's success, his label said they wouldn't release any more Hip Hop for him, so he's releasing his next album - which he is aware won't work well commercially - independently. That's the exact opposite of selling out. That's selling back in!
Judging by the quality and raw talent of his works from The Defamation, he would most certainly have become fameous, even if it would have been for those works alone. Wonder why he became mostly known for his soul songs. Maybe because soul fits him. It's quite obvious he has a great voice for it. Funny how it's mostly only a bunch of elitist snobs that knows of his earlier hiphop stuff. Maybe because it isn't some of his best works. Combining soul and hiphop like he does is much more innovative.
@MisfitMessiah Shut the fuck up u nob, the people that like him for being gritty and a raw rapper are the people who made him who he is.If he started with that The Defamation of Strickland Banks album he would have went nowhere. He got famous because of how gritty he is.Now he is just a sellout like everyone else.
Get over your freaking selves! The Defamation of Strickland Banks is a good and skillfully done album, and it shows beyond a trace of doubt that this man has a lot of talent. If you don't like it because it isn't hiphop all the way or dirty and gritty enough for you that's your opinion and you're entitled to it, but don't trashtalk it like it isn't any good, because that's just like denying the obvious. It can be good if it's another musical genre, and a real fan would respect the mans works.
hes just giving the fans what they want, just a shame the majority of fans prefer his more pop cultural music as opposed to his hard hitting underground ryhmes
I don't know why people are saying he's a ''sell-out'' from going from a Rapper to a sort of ''pop style singer'' i honestly think changing like this will help his career progress.
you still here in some songs he raps a little bit and in most interviews with featured artists they even say he doesn't know if the song will sound good in rap or what not so he still thinks about it, i think he's more unique that he can do two good styles, i think he's simply amazing - keep it up.
@ilikemuffler dude give his new album a chance bro just listen to it instead of bitching respect the artist in what he does .his new album has story and meaning in it .bro he didn't sell out
it makes me sick that all these new people love plan B cos of the strickland banks album..... where the fuck was they when he was makin music like this?????
@DubbleTrubbleBubble half of them are like my dad man its a different genre my mum deffo wouldnt be listnin to suzzane but she likes his new stuff he targeted a new audience he already had our ears peace
@spam0193 i have the 3rd added to my name! I was beaten for 12 years by my parents! i did 18 hard years cuz of what i was taught! Pull your head outta your ass! Gotta middle class name but got brought up hard! It aint your name its your teaching! You are obviously a middle class over educated liberalist! Thats why our country is going to shit! Go and debate this with your so called friends and stay the fuck out of the ends! PRICK!
@MrGoldyFace Whilst I like Eminems music and respect the fact that he is one of the best artists of our generation, I find it hard to believe he had a poor childhood and was brought up in poverty when his mothers name was Deborah R. Nelson Mathers-Briggs, it's not really your average impoverished working class name is it? Or the fact that his real name has the "the third" affixation on the end of it. How many working joes do you know with "the third" on the end of their name?
@spam0193 So...What your saying is; If you have a name that sounds like it could be better then middle class they CANT have a bad childhood? How ignorant is that? I could call my first child Bradley R. David Crystal-Plugg and I could be the worst father ever.
A name doesnt sheild you from a bad childhood. He was fed Vallium to get him to sleep more, and changed school every so often. Lived in a trailer park and when he DID make it, she tried sueing him for 11m? Yep thats my dream childhood.
@spam0193 Dickhead! think about her name the last names of nelson, Mathers and briggs don't m,ake you think hold on 3 marriages! hard life dickhead relationships or anything? and what if you have a middle class life doesn't mean that you are a perfect parent automatically just because you have money, money is corruption and therfore will surely bring a worse upbringing? think about that you fecking demick!!
Plan B is the most diverse artist to appear in years how many people can rap, sing and act like him... So just stop hating... and as regardes to eminem... em got nothing on him.
eminem has already hit his peak plan b is a growin artist but i bet if got as much success as eminem hed also sell out and rap about shit they all fall sooner or later
fuck strickland banks, Plan b was a raw and gritty rapper, not afraid to make controversial songs, my favorite rapper, now hes just sold out like everyone else. Not hatin, im happy he's doing well and getting paid, but its a shame this is how it is nowadays
@wickerman237 talked to Ben at the PDX show and he says an underground album is coming out. Plan B is still and always will be here to stay. Long live Jack the Rippa
@wickerman237 weird init. and his next albums gonna be a punk one apparently.. surely anyone that goes from uk grime to punk isnt a sell-out, just a bit fucked in the head...
@wickerman237 agree mate. sick of hearing all the people who became massive fans of plan b after his dubstep and soul days... like mate i been supporting him since the dirty beginnings
Actually, he likes singing both types of music, and even though his style changed a bit it's interesting to see the dark tone that stays in the more upbeat songs.
Besides, Ben said that he might end up going back to his roots after his next album ;)
@wickerman237 just wait untill his new rap album. He not sold out just a better way to get noticed as this album couldnt get any air time on radio. he's said that the next rap record will be hard core.
@DubaholicDrop Becuz he da' best rapper, well not the best, but one da' best who have really shown what whites are capabable of, comapared with black rappers who spit shit about money and girls,,... :P
Eminem and Plan B Are very good because there lyrics mean something and make seance, there lyrics fit together perfectly and there are my both favourite white artists, you don't get much better then this. He needs to make a few more tracks like this.
i hadnt heard of plan b till his mainstream stuff(like stay too long, praying and she said) but i heard charmaine somewhere and then saw his old stuff like this in The charmaine videos suggestions and i gotta say this is way better then his new stuff.
this song was back in the day the good days plan b! shame you gone down the path you have now but oh well spose you went for the big p! still supporting tho but give something back to the real fans!
@sickbrap his old songs are tight as anything but you cant really say the fans that prefer his newer stuff arnt real fans. but yeah some sick rhymes like this wouldnt go a miss :P
plan b and eminem and are both sick but you cant compare cos its differant styles ... and the of you tht are hating on dis shit thn dont fuckin listen to it cos every time i listen to this tune or any other older shit by this guy all you man are goin on like you can do better
its good sein plan b from years n years ago from basiclly when he was known to only a tiny amount of ppl like me jammin 2 his music n friends n ppl in public sayin turn that shite off n now becus hes famous every1 seems 2 think hes quality. wtf is up with dat
I've just been thinking plan b is the fucking one and in my books he beats any artist who i could think of in underground rap and grime, but i doubt he could go to America because the Yanks just wouldn't understand his lyrics...
@Arm4G3doN no i think they would but it would be differant, cuz there all about 50cent and snoop dogg who rap about money birds and weed ... he raps about his life and whats happend in his life and what he thinks about life :) .
@TriforceSlash yes i do u dick head he is like one of my faviourte, and im not ur mate. all im saying is I THINK that most of there songs are about girls n that... plan b is better than any of them :)

How can you compare Plan B with Eminem?
Because they're both white?
If anything he's more comparable to Taskforce.
And Taskforce are nothing like Eminem.

PRICK!
abritinalamo 11 months ago 2
@MrGoldyFace Whilst I like Eminems music and respect the fact that he is one of the best artists of our generation, I find it hard to believe he had a poor childhood and was brought up in poverty when his mothers name was Deborah R. Nelson Mathers-Briggs, it's not really your average impoverished working class name is it? Or the fact that his real name has the "the third" affixation on the end of it. How many working joes do you know with "the third" on the end of their name?
spam0193 11 months ago
@spam0193 So...What your saying is; If you have a name that sounds like it could be better then middle class they CANT have a bad childhood? How ignorant is that? I could call my first child Bradley R. David Crystal-Plugg and I could be the worst father ever.
A name doesnt sheild you from a bad childhood. He was fed Vallium to get him to sleep more, and changed school every so often. Lived in a trailer park and when he DID make it, she tried sueing him for 11m? Yep thats my dream childhood.
MrGoldyFace 11 months ago 3
@spam0193 Dickhead! think about her name the last names of nelson, Mathers and briggs don't m,ake you think hold on 3 marriages! hard life dickhead relationships or anything? and what if you have a middle class life doesn't mean that you are a perfect parent automatically just because you have money, money is corruption and therfore will surely bring a worse upbringing? think about that you fecking demick!!

@wickerman237 agree mate. sick of hearing all the people who became massive fans of plan b after his dubstep and soul days... like mate i been supporting him since the dirty beginnings

Shut up you moron, you made him fuck all, He is experimenting, now grow the fuck up. Fag.
Jackskeletononmyarm 7 months ago
@wickerman237 @ilikemuffler
Actually, he likes singing both types of music, and even though his style changed a bit it's interesting to see the dark tone that stays in the more upbeat songs.
Besides, Ben said that he might end up going back to his roots after his next album ;)

@wickerman237 plan b is fuking awsome
andrewwarrender1111 5 months ago
@wickerman237 his new album smashes it, my opinion. these albums are great aswell but hes grown up, like the majority of us do...
MrKarlAC 5 months ago
@wickerman237 just wait untill his new rap album. He not sold out just a better way to get noticed as this album couldnt get any air time on radio. he's said that the next rap record will be hard core.

Eminem and Plan B Are very good because there lyrics mean something and make seance, there lyrics fit together perfectly and there are my both favourite white artists, you don't get much better then this. He needs to make a few more tracks like this.
