Thanks for the video. I will be officially be an EMT in April....I'm looking forward TO HELPING PEOPLE. I work in the ER already The adrenaline rush is what keeps me going.
EMS has always been the bastard child of emergency services. We don't drive big red trucks and we don't get to cary guns, so we aren't as cool in the eyes of the public. This is comming from someone that has experience with all three, and I notice a difference in the way I get treated depending on which hat I'm wearing that day.
@medicgal85 hahaha yeah we don't drive big red trucks or carry guns BUT we can do iv's, shock people, RSI, bone drill, so we got some pretty bad ass stuff we can do too lol...
I really like your taste in music man. What are the songs? Other than the first one, I'm a huge fan of Metallica. As far as EMS professionals using self-promotion, I think we deserve it. To quote someone I heard earlier: "Police: America's Finest, Firefighters: America's Bravest, EMS: America's Forgotten."

These types of video's show why EMS professionals get a bad reputation. There is no need to record yourself driving Code 3 and posting it on the Internet, not to mention it is unsafe. Life in this field would be so much easier if people like the one who made this video and the ones who support it would leave the profession. It is one thing for the public to recognize us, but you don't need to dedicate a video to yourself, that's lame. Join this line of work to help others and for nothing else.
Sorry, I have to respectfully disagree with you. Fire and Law Enforcement do a great job of promoting themselves or being promoted, Ladder 49, Back Draft, Swat, and numerous police dramas. EMS is only seen working in the background. Following 911 there was an outpouring of support for the fire and law enforcement personnel lost in the events of that day and rightly so, but very little said of the paramedics lost. If EMS doesn't promote itself, we will remain in the background.
hell yeah, man! stick it to 'em! they have all those tv shows about police/FF and all we have is trauma- life in the e.r. but its mostly about the E.R. and not the medics that bust ass to go get the patient and keep the life in them.
Awesome video guys! Cheers from Union County Ambulance Service in Southern Illinois! Our system has barred us from similar videos, but it's good to see a dedication like this up for those men and women out there doin the job.
