The first one in North America went to Boeing in Seattle Washington about 55 years ago. I demonstrated it. It was invented by Fry's Metal a British firm and sold by Electrovert a Canadian company. It was called Flow Soldering and I rechristened the process to Wavesoldering....
ok, the only thing i dont understand, its how come ya dont use pallets?, . Is it because ya solder everything in the back at one time ? i make wave pallets to hold the board

,,is a hot pot of solder with a pump (waterfall) for flow, used in manual-hand operation considered a wave solderer ?

I use one of those at work. Although it's a lot older, and I've seen boards begin to submerge
