If your teacher is training you in taiji dao at this stage in your development then that 'school' appears to be somewhat superficial. If you want to play at taiji there's no problem, but if you're serious, then hang up the dao and put in the hours on your fist form. I say this with good intentions.
Thanks for the input. I have been taking a holiday from serious training as a new family is much more fun than this. A taijidao form, or playing with a two year old son? no contest.
