Why is there so much violence involved in Judaism? Frist, God tells the Israelites that they should take over Canaan, the cities they did not build, the houses filled with goods which they did not fill, the olive orchards and vineyards that they did not plant, the cisterns that they did not dig. Then kill every single Canaanite, there is even a handy list to check off--Amorites, all killed, Hivites, all killed, etc. Why the theft and murder after they have been given the 10 Commandments?
I enjoyed this video. I can relate to your experiences at 17 as that is about when I first knew I should convert. I believe all Jews, past present and future, walked by Sinai- converts of a true heart always knew they were Jewish. The most wonderful thing I ever did was to recognise this and live my life as a Jew.
I do like Judaism minus the Talmud, which is just a bunch of suppositions made by rabbis. I don't get how it's taken precedence over the actual Holy Book--the Ten Commandments, story of Ruth, etcetera. That's why the only Jews I agree with on theological discussions are the Karamite Jews who stick to the G-d given word, and not the ramblings of men. In the Talmud musings there are rabbi statements that contradict each other, and it sounds more like a debate than a holy book.

I just see the Talmud as rabbis trying to interpret the Old Testament, with the time period affecting their perceptions on certain issues. For example, I love Hilel, but many of the statements in the Talmud about gentiles are less than nice. I understand this is due to the persecution that happened, but I don't believe those views apply to today. Most gentiles today believe in one God, similar morals, and respect differences.

I primarily find the Talmud interesting because it helps me to better understand how today's mainstream Judaism came to be and provides me with diverse perspectives on the interpretation of the Torah...but I know I don't have to agree with the writers. I can't refute the Torah, though.

What work is forbidden on shabbat? Technically getting out of bed is work because you are using energy to effect a change.
Without referring to the Talmud or traditions of the Jewish people define a fringe.
Without the oral law and the exposition on ambiguous cases by Chazal the written law makes no sense. You can't have one without the other.

Servants, in biblical days, referred to indentured servants, meaning they were earning their keep or owed a debt that was paid through servitude. This was not just a jewish thing. Way before Jews existed, there were indentured servants.

You're an idiot. Why can't you spell out the word GOD? And you can't BECOME JEWISH. Only those who are descendents of Abraham, but chose to make it to Israel are Jews. God did not offer the Torah to anyone else, knowing that Moses himself, through God's dictation, wrote the first few books until his death. But more and more Jews are turning to Christianity now. They are still Jews, but now Jewish Christians. One would think you'd have researched all this before making this vid.

Jews, like Christians and Muslims believe in universal God. There is no such thing as Jewish God. Christianity borrowed from Judaism and Islam (later religion) borrowed from both, 600 years later. All three major religions borrowed from early cults. Believing in any organized religion in the 21st century is silly, to say the least. The Nobel prize was turned into a joke decades ago when the notorious jew Armand Hammer was able to bribe his way to being a finalist for the peace prize. Just like how Pia Zadora's jew husband bribed all the judges to give her an award in the early 1980s. Midrashim are simply stories. Kind of like the Hadiths. They are not backed by scripture, but just nice to think about. The Midrashim say more about how Jews think than what Jews believe.
