This is what I was struggling with for a long time I thank God for you I wish you lived where I lived because I believe you are a true teacher of the true God!!!!!
That is true. I came out from a very manipulative church. Not only that, we have to obey everything the pastor lays down, else, we will be scolded to be Judas Iscariot, unsubmissive, disobedient or in rebellion.
I am asked to leave the church because i am deemed unsubmissive and in rebellion and disobedient., because she said devil will attack her because of my sins of unsubmission to her.The last words I left with the pastor when I leave was "I am leaving this church to go find JESUS"
If someone teaches that, know that it comes right from the pit and get away from that person. Evil men look for people to follow and support them when it should be the other way around. I will not enter a church until the pastor agrees to support me!
Steve, even the modern institutional church (IC) is not Biblical. Even the title "Pastor" is not Biblical. We are all brothers and sisters. We are all priests and kings. Who want to be the first, should be the last. Also, bishop as a leader is total false! Episcopos means (look at BLB, also the roots): somebody who visitors poor families and helps them. Also, the church building is an OT stuff, not a NT, God does not dwell in hand made buildings. Home churches (HC) seem to be more Biblical.
Woo I love it! I think the only covering is the blood as well. I believe its important to have a family (whether be blood or church) to fall back on in case of need (sin, heartache). But even so thats not a limitation like "outside the umbrellla." Go Love, and Be blessed!
Watching this brings back memories of my own christian journey. It makes me think of how rigid and dogmatic I used to be taking every bible translation so literal. As I got older I became more understanding and open like you. However I went a step further. I believe people do not need a religion to live by. They need to overcome dysfunctional behavior and live the golden rule " do unto others...." .
We left the spiritually-abusive church I had written to you about which prompted this #75 posting of the lie of spiritual covering. When you've been subjected to this kind of abuse, it does a number on your trust of anyone, especially church leadership, but we've now been attending a good healthy church with mature and accountable leadership ever since. I listen to and share your videos every day. God Bless you.
Great video. I was part of a church with a seemingly great vision for evangelism and many anointed leaders and members and it turned into a full fledged cult with this type of false teaching. I was ashamed that I was part of the leadership for over 7 years and never researched the Word to see that this teaching is no where in the bible. The hinge verse that was abused was the Hebrews 13:17. I would love to hear your perspective on this verse and its real meaning and proper context. Thanks
I think Hebrews 13:17 is no problem when leadership is "in the Lord," meaning that the Spirit and the Word bear witness that a spiritual leader is following Christ. When that leader deviates from the Scripture or heart of Christ, we shouldn't follow. We are to trust the Holy Spirit to show us that and pay attention to any inner sense that we are being manipulated/controlled. Loving leaders are servant leaders who people WANT to follow. Coercive leadership is not the way of Christ.

If your pastor is your covering, Christ is not your head. If pastor wants to replace Christ, he is an antichrist.

What IC did "for" the Body of Christ?
1. Helped ambitious guys to get the power.
2. Helped in stealing the saints' money from the poor.
3. Helped to limit the usage of the gifts to just a few "ministers".
4. Helped to bring church back to OT: the LIES you discuss).
5. Helped to substitute the Holy Spirit with programs.
6. Helped to be seeker sensitive instead of promoting holiness.
7. Helped to develop "Christian Business", the serving of Riches. (Christian music, books, teachings sold?)

Any pastor who wants to controll you, you better get away from.

Praise God for this video. This is one of the most hideous false doctrines I've had to deal with within the church.
I've viewed several of your videos and so far agree with them all according to my understanding of the scriptures.
Keep it up!

Nice to see a Christian that reads his bible and understands the Spirit. Great job.

There is a hierarchy in christian church, however, the greatest is not the one in the top, but the one in the bottom.
