    TARANTULA out of nowhere

    Made me lol

  • Not meant to sound good??? Coz it does :D

  • this is fucking amazing

  • is it just me or does slam/salt in the wounds/granite/propane nightmares sound fuckin' awesome? 1:35

  • guess i don't need to listen to their discography now.

  • The snare/kick part made me laugh, and i like the vid, but there's nothing astounding about finding the central DnB drum beat. All jazz has a central drum beat, all rock has the same drum feel. I'm a drummer and this was one of the first things I noticed, but when you've got a genre, you've got a beat! love it!

  • @novahcac It's actually a bit different with electronic music. It's supposed to be really close to the same thing with all songs in the genre, as far as the drums go, so that way dj's can easily mix it together.

  • Is it ok that i still like it?

  • wow... very well done

  • Eh, I know its been said to death, but Pendulum's in a genre pretty much defined by one drumbeat. It's like looking at reggaeton and saying: Wow they all sound the same! I'm not defending them though, they are really kind of samey and I can't say I really dig their stuff anymore. Nice mix though, I saw this a long time ago and its always been funny.

  • i like mw3!!

  • @wingsofwoodunkus I like Black Ops and Nazi Zombies but I haven't came to a Pendulum video just to say my shitty gaming taste, bitch.

  • any1 notice at the end it showed granite it for like a millisecond

  • Lol, kick, snare, kick, snare

  • sounds kinda like liquid dnb

  • Some people, like me, don't listen to music for the drumbeat. To me, they're placeholders, like a metronome. Some bands find their metronome is 178 BPM. They work their music around it.

  • @onlyontuesdays99 That's a really good response.

  • @onlyontuesdays99

the point isn't that its all the same tempo you numpty, its that all the tunes follow the same pattern/key and have no diversity whatsoever.

  • I just sue YouTube to Mp3 :P

  • That's why I hate this genre. ALWAYS the same drumbeat. How creative.

  • @Elintasokas every genre is defined by a certain amount of set 'guidelines' i use that word very loosely. I would advise you to go and listen to some of noisia's more obscure creations which are very much still D&B yet completely unique in their own right. Also just out of curiosity, what do you listen to?

  • @EtfSounds Alternative rock, Almost every metal subgenre, Some pop rock, Some trance, Synthpop, Futurepop, Classical, A lot of different kinds of soundtracks, Progressive metal/rock, Dark electro/aggrotech, some avant-garde and others I can't remember now.

  • @Elintasokas so to me, somebody pretty oblivious to metal and its many many counterparts would say that most songs would sound very similar, double bass pedals ridiculously detuned open strings played for minutes on end. so its just swings and roundabouts i guess.

  • @EtfSounds Actually no. I don't listen to anything like that. I despise detuning guitars really low and playing open strings. That just sounds bad. Instead, I value good chord progressions and melodies. Also clever use of tempo changes, time signatures, great orchestral/symphonic elements, beautiful harmonies, atmosphere and the use of some rare and exotic scales.

You probably think all metal is Meshuggah with guitars tuned to B standard and only playing open B all day.

  • @EtfSounds But yeah, I guess it's normal for Pendulum or this genre to always have the same tempo/drumbeat AND be in the same key AND 4/4 time signature. Just makes them look a bit lazy and look like they lack creativity.

  • T-THE ENERGY IN ALL OF THESE SONGS COMBINED...!!

  • lol granite at the end XD :L

  • hmm i think i'd rather listen to them one by one lol....

  • All of them together sounds horrific.

  • Ahaha, I can't tell whether this is awesome or sad. xD

I still love you Pendulum, but variety couldn't hurt!

  • jesus christ

  • pendulum is epic. I bet if you took most of the popular artists (Jessie J, The Wanted, etc.) nowadays and put even two of their songs in a mix it would sound like an early apocolypse.

  • sooooooooooooo cooooooooooooooool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If someone with ADD listens to this, their head will explode.

  • doesnt feel like 18 songs, more like 3 :P

  • I think it's 184BPM bro.

  • if the background noise is cleared up and corrected, this could very well be THE OMFG mix..

  • holy shit thats awesome

  • Background

  • @Broezzz Ooh yep. Made it in After effects. Audio Spectrum line, gradient colour and a massive radial blur, pretty easy, moves around to the music on it's own.

  • maybe a stuid question, but where did you get the bg in the vid form? im kinda curious...

  • @Broezzz What's a bg?

  • @Robomansk8 background

  • @Robomansk8 i think he means background

  • Comment removed

  • @Robomansk8 use Sony Vegas???

  • @Robomansk8 Background, broman. = D

  • @Robomansk8 background?

  • @Robomansk8 Bg Background

  • @Robomansk8 Back Ground

  • EAR RAPE

  • these 10 dollar headphones cant handle it

  • :notbad:

  • The funny thing is a good number of these are on the same album (Hold Your Colour). Since i have the CD I tried mashing Hold Your Colour and Slam together. It sounded pretty awesome. =P

  • You know, it really doesn't sound THAT bad. Especially in the beginning before the drop. Kind of like some random mashup.

  • Granite is like the most prominent there.

  • look at the like bar.

    now look at your penis.

now look back at the like bar.

sadly your penis is not the like bar.

  • ......Granite. xDDDD

  • Best...Song...EVER OwO Bullshit! I need a new pair of socks

  • lol so much editing

movie maker would crash after you put the second song in lol

    great mash up wonderfull work

  • @Robomansk8 I think you should make another video of just mixing together Slam, Salt in the Wound, Granite, and Propane Nightmares, cause that mashup at 1:37-1:47 is amazing! XD

  • this actually sounds pretty cool XD

  • Mind re-uploading the DL link? It's expired

  • sooooo cool :D this must have taken forever to make it to sound this good lol

  • It's funny how they all sound the same

  • This sounds pretty damn epic...

  • Witchcraft and Watercolour are in F Minor

Showdown and Propane Nightmares are in G Minor

  • At 1:18 i was like "FUCK ME"

  • I'm sure there's a point to be made here...

  • 27 people are obviously deaf o_O

  • fucking beast....

people pendulum made an abomination called teh island part2 and that was just epic turd noise... but i fucking love it

  • @ThreeDaysOfDan The Island Part II is beast! I don't get why someone could hate it. When I saw them live, that song got everyone pumped the most XD

  • This is some dope as shit bro.

    I love it.

  • All the bass mids mixing together formed the fattest thickest wall of bass ever.

  • I liked the beginning. Slam/Hold Your Color/Propane Nightmares make a good combo.

  • Download broken

  • "It seems like -- you're waiting for -- TARANTULA!!--..."

  • 1:47 to 2:13 sounds amazing. Especially Streamline and Watercolour.

  • SICK AS F#CK.

    I love you. <3~ :D

  • They are missing Blood Sugar!

  • Rumors say that this song can resurrect the dead and bring them back to life!

  • haha love it!

  • you're brilliant! :D

  • Granite is dominating :D

  • HUGE Pendulum fan and I gotta say I like it...a lot.

  • @lmn8nme2 Pendulum fan as well, and I enjoy this mix too. Shows us how intellectual this band is...

  • Comment removed

  • oh god what

  • They're selling the same song all over with different bells and whistles, but it's not like that hasn't been done before.

  • lol

  • the link is down please update

  • wat

  • BUM KAH BUM KAH

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL @ kick snare kick snare

  • Not sure if this is a piss-take but it's actually pretty good.

  • (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ omfg

  • BLOODY BRILLIANT!!!

  • this got a laugh out of me, haha. Nicely done, actually sounds pretty good too. Strong Work!

  • its insane but if you focus hard you will find logic in it :)

  • This is surprisingly badass.

  • i think it actually sounds amazing

  • Nicely done with the video! It's DnB, of course it's gonna sound the same :D

  • KICK, SNARE, KICK, SNARE, in many songs beats are the same, it's cool, but time flies and they should find new sound...

  • They might not be pure DnB anymore but I can still enjoy their songs;

Every genre has good songs and artists; from classic to metal to opera to RnB.

Anyway the mix ain't that bad at all.

  • you shouldn't mix pendulum songs together

    Reasons:

1.got a really bad ear ache

    2.its an abomination

  • @TheJawSmash Hahaha, probably my favourite comment.

  • @TheJawSmash bullshit cunt, its experimental music production, dont you no nufink?

  • The build up was crazy, and then the rest was noise, but I still loved it :D:D:D:D

  • THIS VIDEO IS FKING AWESOME

  • The song they shud play at their funeral XD

  • @2009joshyboy Haha, that implies that they're all gonna die at the same time.

  • i thought this was badass tbh

  • 18x pendulum songs at the same time? 18x times the awesomeness!

  • now thats called music industry.

  • i now know i can run at 174bpm woot!

  • why does it sound nice?

  • Wheeeeeeeee.

  • That works really well.

  • Are ALL of those tunes actually in the same key, or did you transpose any of them to make it work?

  • @thegrimey Some are transposed. They are all in F#min.

  • this isn't a diss this is a tribute

  • xD Kick snare kick snare!

  • Hi, I actually came to a video about a band I like instead of wasting my time watching another video of a band I don't like and leaving a comment. My time was well spent!

  • This proves one thing, that all pendulum songs are the same

  • @Davedz91 Same could be said of anyones music really.

  • @DropKickSkiff maybe if you listened to a genre that wasn't drum and bass you'd think differently

  • @Davedz91 Pendulum isnt Drum and Bass anymore really. I also listen to a variety of music. And to someone who doesnt care much for a certain genre the same could be said for said genre. For instance, I think all taylor swift songs sound the same, but to someone else everything is different. So as I said, the same could be said of any artist. BTW who do you listen to?

  • @deveeoos Actually, yes. lol

If their is someone who doesnt like the music you listen to, chances are they would think that musicians work all sounds the same.

  • @DropKickSkiff Yes they'd say that. But that doesn't make them right. It just makes them stupid.

  • @deveeoos In a way we're all stupid.

  • I would like pendulum if they made more than one song! They're all the same drum beat and it's pretty boring. I like the sound, but it'd be nice if they weren't a loop :P

  • Ooo... this was unexpected

  • No! Too much epicness! AAAAaaa--

    *earsplosion*

  • Proves a good point and in fact, makes Pendulum more enjoyable.

  • Epic.

  • awesome!

  • Holy shit people, I love Pendulum, and I wasn't even mad at this, in fact it's fucking hilarious.

  • @Aireodice I'm responding to this so it shows up in the comments at the top. :)

  • @Robomansk8 3 albums at once please? :D

  • @Robomansk8

    yep

  • I originally thought this was some kind of dislike video. Didn't make me like Pendulum any less though. Turns out it wasn't an anti-Pendulum video to begin with.

  • pendulum are fucking WANK

  • I'll never understand how people thought this was a hate video >:3

  • this is actually really good o.o

  • PENDULUM IS DRUM AND BASS????????????

HOLY FUCK I NEVER KNEW. WHAT A BRILLIANT VIDEO AMAGAD. DERP.

  • Sick. That was amazing thanks!

  • BRILLIANT I LOVE YOU

  • 1:37 epic

  • it's called drum and bass. Is it really a surprise that they sound the same? morons.................

  • 23 people are partially blind

  • pendulum loves the same bassline

  • this actually sounds neat.

  • Ah... I remember the days when hold your colour came to save drum and bass from obscurity. We didn't half worship false gods lol

  • impressive thumbs up

  • I used to love Pendulum and I still like "Hold Your Colour" but then all their songs on later albums started sounding so alike that I couldn't tell one tune from another. I love this video as it's proof that modern artists find a template and just keep churning the same shit out over and over without any imagination. Pendulum fans who dislike this video are idiots.

  • @FreshCodd as in rou from enter shikari?

  • PENDULUM'S NEW SINGLE, "Slamhold Your 9000 Streamline Salt Terminal Propane Colour Sounds of Life Granite in the Watercolour Nightmare Midnight Showdown Witchcraft Wounds Girl Under the Plasticworld Fire Runner Waves Tarantula Crush Miles", IS OUT TODAY!!!

  • This video reminds me why I love ALL songs by Pendulum, not just a few.

  • Mind. Blown.

  • tobyjug83 obviously is justin bieber undercover

  • Just goes to show that all Pendulum songs sound the same and are shit.

  • THIS IS AMAZING OKAY IDEGAF

  • @ThisisDownstate, you are SO wrong. It's drum and bass, DRUM and bass, how is it supposed to sound? It's all going to sound slightly similar because there are only a few different types of sounds you can make with a drum set. Why don't you go ahead and make three amazing dnb albums that sell millions of copies each. And each drumbeat has to be different, each 40 or so drumbeats has to be noticeably different. Then I will agree with you. But until then, Pendulum is still the best and most succes

  • Rob never wanted to do any d'n'b, Gareth convinced him to.

  • @bristolyoutubization It seems you assume I made this video to make Pendulum look bad or provoke hating on them. I dont mind if you want to make the point that many people don't like Pendulum based off the reasons you said and that that could be unfair on them. But its a bit presumtuous to pretend you know my motives behind making this video, and use that as a platform for your own opinions. Like I said in the video description, 'this is merely an experiment', no need to get defensive.

  • @Robomansk8 The way the video comes across when you watch it, I don't think my comment was presumptuous at all. Why flash up the BPM and the KICK SNARE captions like that unless you have the motive of taking the piss? Despite your video description, it comes across as having a go at Pendulum for doing what the majority of producers who primarily write one genre do these days. Perhaps it would be clearer if you re-edited the video without the pointers to BPM and rhythm pattern?

  • @bristolyoutubization Friends and I began referring to the Kick Snare Kicksnare beat as the 'Pendulum beat' and ~175bpm songs as 'Pendulum speed'. Realising how similar they really were when I compared them, well THAT is the point of this vid. The similarity. Pointing out the 'kicksnare' is needed. If showing that means taking the piss for you then fine (and I can see how it would), but a good half of comments here see this video as a tribute. Half see it as a pisstake. I just dont really care.
