I have this exact same Zenith system and I was wondering if you've ever removed the turntable. I already removed the C-clip and pulled out the spindle, but I can't figure out why the turntable isn't coming off. I've pulled on it, tapped it with a screwdriver, and it hasn't budged at all. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have the exact same system. I inherited this from my father after he passed away. My main reason for this is the turntable. I have lots of good records. I need to find out how to replace the stylus. Any ideas? Thanks
Hello, I have a Zenith IS 4071 integrated stereo system which I got at a flea market for $8.70. I was wondering if you can help me out. I use it mainly to play my LP record collection and a few 7" 45 singles. It was set to move the automatic tone-arm for 7" singles ever since I bought it. I want to set it to move for LP records but I can't learn how or find a switch to move it. Can you tell me how to fix this setting? Thank you very much.
Thank you for your help but I couldn't find that switch. My model is different than yours and the turntable is layed out differently than yours and I can't find a switch. There is a "bias" switch which I can set from 0-6, and a needle cue swich which only lifts and lowers the tonearm. I couldn't find any switch like on yours. Thank you anyway for your help and if you have any other ideas, please tell me. I'll really appreciate it. Thank you!
I have the one with the 8 track player/recorder......i got it for $10 with a set of Zenith Allegro 1500 speakers.....the turntable is well gummed up (hate BSR's allso) but the rest of it seems to work fine,,,,swutches need a shot of cleaner.......nice set......
Like you, I have an almost identical unit (sanyo dxt5808) next to my PC as am amp. The cassette deck is identical right down to the space for the cassettes at the back. the turntable is the same basic deck but cosmetically different.
with regard to the low sound, open her up and try cleaning the rec-pb mode slider switch with a shot of switch cleaner .
you could also get a new clip from, say, a car spares dealer.

Saw this exact same stereo in the thrift store today. I left it though cause the needle was missing and there wasn't any price marked on it.

Try demagnetizing and cleaning with alcohol and a Q-Tip the heads on the cassette deck. Both channels will probably work then.

Wow, I have a Zenith that works a lot like this one, only mine has an 8-track recorder. Check out my newest video to actually see it.

There is a lever to the right of the tonearm marked "12 - 10 - 7" That's the record size selector. Set it to 12 for your LPs.

They came with those Allegro speakers.
I'm about to sell this stereo because I've replaced it with a smaller KLH, but it is a good set and has served me well for the last five years.
