Great video! I had a question about what ram would give my pcmthe biggest boost overall. I have an i7-950 and an agility 3 60gb ssd, and I'm looking to upgrade my ram from ddr3 1066 MHz . There are two specific sets of ram I was looking into and I was wondering which would be better. 1 is a 8gb of ddr3 1600mhz with a cas of 9, and the other is 8gb of ddr3 2133mhz with a cas latency of 11. Thanks in advance.
Most likely wont get a reply as nobody posts replys on this video, but give it a try... So i got ddr3 ram that runs at 9-9-9-24 latency and speed of 1333mhz. If I buy same speed, but latency of 8-8-8-21, does that mean the one I buy will go upto 9-9-9-24 when used together? Also... is it dumb to buy faster latency ram and use them with slow latency ram?
@crazyspooks10 They will run at the slower latency of the 2, so it is "Dumb" only if there is no reason to buy the slower memory. Slower memory is usually cheaper, maybe you bought it off someone, maybe you had it left over and the slower memory isn't made anymore. However, if the 2 are equal and 1 is faster, then yes it is "dumb" to go with the slower memory.
hey man yesterday i overclocked was trying to get my amd 1055t and i was trying to get 4ghz but it wouldn't boot then i lowed the latency of my ram and it worked i was like wtf the defaults where 9.9.9 24 now there 8.8.8. 21 lol

Does anybody know how you find out the correct memory timings for your mobo?
Thanks in advance

@beyourownit lol thanks for the quick reply. decided to buy another 4gbs of same speed and latency. Crossing name brands of memory is fine right?

@crazyspooks10 Shouldn't be a problem.
