  • What a shame that you have misspelled Iversen's name in the title. So it's IversEn and not IversOn. Kind regards, Fasulye

  • @Fasulye2009 Yea, that's unacceptable, let me change it right now. Thanks.

  • @laoshu505000 : His name is spelled "Iversen" not with a capital "e" in the middle. So please correct that again. Fasulye

  • @laoshu505000 Yeh sorry about that Moses. :D. My Swahili is basically at a basic tourist conversational level, which is why I use Google Translate, and don't worry I will find other things to improve my Swahili. Actually, I am glad that Google Translate does not have some of the languages I speak. Especially Cherokee and almost all of the African languages I speak.

  • @laoshu505000 Yeh, s

  • Katika video mpya yangu, mimi ni

kuzungumza Kiswahili, Kimongolia, Kichina, na lugha nyingine. Unaweza kuangalia ni nje, itakuwa appreciated. Shukrani.

Unafikiri nini?

  • @Chezrocksall Nzuri. Unatakiwa kusema '('Wa)tu( we)ngi amb(ao) ( wa)nasema '' Many of the people who speak'' ambao would be the relative (who) for wao ''they'' Ijapo situmia Pimsler, napenda sana...kadhalika.

I was saying this before, but you should not use google translate for English--Swahili for any language. I think it's ok for vocabulary, but for constructing sentences, it's not good. We're all learning, but you should really consider using some good textbooks like: Spoken World and

  • @Chezrocksall Teach Yourself Swahili. You've already made a good choice by using Pimsleur, but you should really look into a course that will help you understand the constructions. I've made a few videos recommending these type of resources. I can send them to you if you want.

  • @brandoscostumes Thanks for pointing out that Xhosa has click consonants. I guess only for Xhosa did I learn how to converse in terms of knowledge of words, sentences, and grammar. But for pronunciation, I know now that I need to improve on pronunciation. Thanks.

  • @Chezrocksall Sina shida ndugu. Je, unafikir nini kuhusu lugha ya kiswahili

  • @laoshu505000 Thanks for pointing that out.

  • @laoshu505000; @NJLIverson Aku menyesal tentang itu. Saya harap Anda membuat video tentang saya, tapi...

If you're trying to say ''I'm studying'' it should be used in the present progressive like this: Mimi ninajifunza or you can just say najifnza. When you use ''Kujifunza'' it's only used this way when you're dealing with a potential or infinitive like this:

  • @Chezrocksall Mimi ninataka kujifunza lugha ya kiswahili ''I want (to) study Swahili'' or Mimi ninaweza kujifunza lugha ya kiswahili sasa ''I'm able to study Swahili now. You can use KU here in this type of context. I just wanted to point that out for you.

  • @Chezrocksall tapi apa sih

@brandoscostumes: Ouch! That certainly could explain your sudden demise. I only wrote that I preferred staying in my comfy armchair ...

Selamat Belajar teman.

  • *Iverson

  • I wish you would have promoted my channel too but that's okay. Also I would love to chat with Iversen.

  • probably because i said 'shadowing' was stupid. LOL.

  • Actually it was 5languages who had a beef with me, but right now I don't even know whether I closed his account, nor who stopped Brandoscostumes posts.

By the way, I enjoyed listening to your Bahasa video - it is one of my current projects, but apart from news broadcasts I haven't heard much speech in this language yet.

  • @NJLIversen Terima Kasih Pak, bagaimana rasa anda tentang bahasa indonesia? sukarkah

  • Thanks to Laoshu for making this reference video which I found almost by accident while listening through some of your other videos (starting out with the one in Bahasa Indonesian) .

As for HTLAL I'm a moderator there, but I didn't invent the rules and I'm not the only moderator. Without knowing your HTLAL names I can't even know whether it actually was me who blocked you or not - but feel free to dislike me, with or without reason.

  • @NJLIversen No problem. I don't have any beef with you Iverson.

  • Iverson caused me to get kicked off HTLAL 2 years ago. I personally don't like him. Besides most of those guys on HTLAL think we here on YT are hacks. Moses, you already know my thoughts on this. I apologize for being so negative but I've not had a good experience with them.

  • @5Language they stopped publishing my posts without even notifying me. it's just a shitty forum. whatever you think of him personally, everyone here could benefit from his series on linguistic analysis and should at least be exposed his old-school methods. the guy clearly teaches himself languages efficiently and THOROUGHLY. everyone acknowledges his word-list technique but no one cares to hear how he utilizes the fundamentals of language? plus his actual FL speaking vids are long/advanced

  • Interesting!

  • Good plug. I had some chats with him on HTLAL and he seems a sound person.

  • I'll definitely check his channel ... thanks for sharing it with us man!!

  • I am really pleased you did this laoshu. Iversen is wonderful: both in his abilities and his knowledge, and his channel certainly deserves many more viewers.

  • I'll do it sir!

  • Iversen is awesome. Definitely one of my favorite people on HTLAL.
