every should just realize there are many guitarists that are good Ritchie's my favourite too but Steve and Ritchie play too completely different styles one's not better than the other every one apparently has yet to realize that.

It's very simple for me. There's a Blackmore's Deep Purple and a Steve Morse's Deep Purple. You're absolutely right. They play different styles. In fact, I've never thought who's better. Not a chance.

Page is the Guitar God. Morse is a great guitarist and he's just what Purple was looking for (they've said it on interviews).

Actually, No I'm not fucking stupid. Page is one of the most over rated guitar players in he world. He is a brilliant song writer without question and one of the best ever but I have yet to hear a great live performance out of him. Have you? Share it please!! You are right...you can't compare morse with page because Morse is without question superior. But name a guitar player - Blackmore, Beck, Slash, Van Halen, Iommi, Rhodes...etc they all blow Page away.

I concur with you with almost everything NQR5, i just saw purple last night and morse is simply incredible not only because of his skills, but his presence on the stage is second to none. I would go even further in your comparison beetween page and morse and say that purple kicks zeppelin's ass right now.You just take a look at their current shows and you'll see deep purple is full of energy and they play their songs like they were in their 20s unlike zeppelin (i love them btw but they suck now)

Ritchie`s tone and over all sound is better. Evey other guitarist is screechey sounding. Blackmore may not be the best but no one sounds better. Blackmore is king.

Notice how his guitar cuts through the background and noise! Each note sounds clear and comes out of the speakers with so much punch...we, mere mortals, are used to pedals, effects and lots of compression plugged into a small amp in a bedroom. Steve seems to use the raw drive of the amps at stupidly loud volume. Only true masters can handle that.

Went to see his Guitar clinic in Birmingham (England)during the latest tour and have to say he was incredible. To be able to ask him questions and been shown his technique one to one was just amazing, he also stayed on after and signed stuff and posed for photos. What a great person...top man our Steve
