So, adding on to my first comment..It could be a debate about women's rights and it can lead to "if we don't do this it could lead to a nuclear hollocaust (etc) And it will end the whole world!" As for the really fast random words, in debates that is strategy, they wont be able to attack your points if they have no idea what you're talking about. You have to take notes during rounds. We practice by listening to this song and writing down as much as we can. There's no hidden message in this song

You know what the song is ACTUALLY about? When a few members of REM were in high school they were on the debate team as policy debaters. I wont go into detail but policy debaters are notorious for talking at the speed of light so you can't keep up. They also, no matter what the subject of debate is, will bring the end of the world into the debate. "It starts with an earthquake.." etc, and leads to "the end of the world as we know it."
