I will never forget this semi final for one reason as my dad who was and still is a mad sheffield united supporter took me to this game at the age of 8 as i chose the blue n white side of sheffield but he was doing his best to hide his grin at the final whistle. well done to brighton on winning league one this season and i do believe you will start life in the championship in a new stadium ? all the best the york owl

Fantastic memmories, shame about the result!. I was working in Glasgow at the time and travelled down by train(no ticket..got arrested at York, night in cells but still made the match!). Herralded a return to the big time for Wednesday over next 15 yrs, sadly club is still paying the price for those glory days. Up the Owls...

Even though I am a Chelsea fan I used to live near Brighton and often went to matches, including this one. Stoo right behind the goal where Case scored his screamer. It was a great game and atmosphere, and meant we could all go to Wembley for the final. went on a double decker bus from Burgess Hill with a big mob of herberts, and we all got rat-arsed on the way up.

I was there in 83 (Brighton Fan) and it was and will always be the most treasured memory of my life till the day i snuff it !!!

What a feeling everybody had written us off and to be able to stick up fingers up at every shitty club we knocked out like Liverpool ,Newcastle,Norwich etc etc (every club we played (EVERY ROUND WAS A TOP FLIGHT CLUB)was fantastic.
