  • Lol it's js a phone.

  • lol i think its the first time i've heard someone complimenting the iphone's pictures

  • Evo can run over 15 apps simultaneously without lag, without having to pause, without limits. Come on wake up, the thing is a 3rd rate toy for a 4 yr. old

  • What most consumers don't realize is that megapixels are not an indicator of quality, they just mean the resolution (XxY pixels). A very significant factor in the quality is the physical size of the image sensor. Phones don't have space to fit in a large sensor, so if you squeeze in more than a certain number of pixels into it, quality has to go down the drain. I know for sure those 12 MP phones are gonna be crappy in terms of pictures, but consumers still get impressed by the numbers.

  • Continuing on my last comment, I'm really glad that Steve mentioned this very crucial fact in his keynote.

Professional photographers and photography enthusiasts know that and is one of the main reasons they prefer DSLR cameras over others, because they have huge image sensors (compared to point-and-shoot cameras).

  • what about live video (in multitasking)?

  • Good points. You thing about Android and task killers. It's not essential, the OS manages open applications quite well, the task killer is just a quick way of completely killing the app. Comparable to the little red circle to close open apps on the iPhone.

  • Androids multitasking is rubbish, it ends up running loads of **** and your phone slows down and will often crash...If you just install a task manger though you can end all (or selected) with just a single press of a button!

  • Is down- and uploading one of the special API''s for multitasking?

For example could I edit a video in iMovie and upload it to YouTube, then switch to other apps, play games etc.

  • @munkicloud task completion

  • @jrdroper Nice...

  • no matter what the specs are on phone cameras, a camera made to be a camera with the same specs will still be better..

  • 1.3 megapixels for the EVO's front camera.

  • android does it the same as iOS 4, a game pauses if you leave it, and if you have an audio app, it will continue to play. Battery isnt affected too much, and neither is performance, and i have the slowest android phone...so thats saying something

  • api for background: continue download in background

  • Agree 110% with the camera quality on the iphones being better than 15 mega pixel ones. unfortunately, where these other manufacturers have gone wrong is by fooling the people... they boast about quantity over quality... whereas apple is the other way around.

  • The noise cancellation for sure looks stunning, i think it was Noah from phonedog who tested it and it looks stunning. the 720p camera addition is amazing, no need to go out and get a flip :D

  • Oh man, your face is priceless in this video. #justwokeup lol

  • Multi-tasking on Android sucks!!!

  • The video camera is the biggest for me. Now I can use the iPhone as my mobile camera for YouTube videos. Also, my two daughters and my wife will make big use out of Face Time. I wish there was an option for 3G.

  • great video and i totally agree with u i have used the evo and besides the snappy snapdragon processor the phone is just OKAY... pic quality is great, video quality using the front facing camera is not good, you never really get 4g service, the keyboard is cramped and too unorganized, mobile safari is way better than the evo web browser, its a great phone for people that dont care about a proper ui, apple iphones are the best smartphones in the US - fact

  • iphone 4 ftw

  • im happy that the update is free. with all the $ they're making with the app store, there's no need for them to nickel and dime us

  • Can I have multiply services in the background? For example Spotify and Pandora streaming music at the same time?

  • I miss a dedicated camera button on iPhone 4 (as I do with my Andoird-phone) on the side as many other phones. As almost any camera phone from SonyEricsson.....

  • Lol i Love your Videos DRBUK =)

  • ur an apple fan boy. stop hattin and look at the iphones network it needs alot of work

ohhhhhhh and the evo has video chat over 3g

  • @modaddy5757 lol how can u say im a fanboy, you havent watched the whole series yet, i still have videos to go, so calm down

  • @modaddy5757 the network has nothing to do with the iphone, thats that carriers fualt

  • @modaddy5757

First of all, you can use iPhone on other GSM networks, so he's not praising AT&T, he's praising the iPhone. Apple IS NOT AT&T.

Would you want to video chat over AT&T's network? I thoughts so. You can use a Verizon Mifi, or like me, if I want to use the iPhone's FaceTime feature, I will turn on my mobile hotspot app on my Palm Pre Plus. Or you can get an overdrive? Just because AT&T doesn't support it doesn't make it impossible.

  • @modaddy5757 and btw the iPhones network has nothing to do with the iPhone thats at&t

  • @modaddy5757 and hes in the uk.... why would he care about at&t?? ;)

  • @modaddy5757 DRBUK doesn't live in the U.S. Why would he care about AT&T? Video chat will probably work over 3G over where DRBUK is too, to that point goes out the door for you.

  • @modaddy5757 the Iphone dosn't have a network, at&t has a network

  • @modaddy5757 Why do you care if he's an Apple fanboy? We have rights to like whatever we want. But maybe the real question should be: why are you an Apple hater?

  • @Tman2295 you got me wrong i dont hate apple. i just think that apple doesn't give us all the features like other phones do. what they allways had was a simple and good os

  • @modaddy5757 Okay, I'm sorry for judging you.

  • Very nice video I like the detail keep them coming they are so gd.

  • drbuk, you have gone over the top in trashing the evo 4g. The camera and video capture quality is out of this world. Go look at soldierknowsbest's test of the video footage he recorded with his test phone. You gotta be more fair than that my friend.

  • @entigus Ye I may be a bit harsh, I said that in the vid, but I have put a link to solids video and I wasn't impressed and so was soldier, the quality Is good bout not good enough

  • @DRBUK

You are right. The iPhone uses better technology alongside a very good camera to enhance the photos and videos taken from iPhone 4, which is what the EVO lacks. HTC builds many phones, Apple builds one, so ALL of their focus goes into this one phone, and it does pack a pretty nasty punch, which is why so many people want to buy it.

  • 720p 30fps FTW

  • steve jobs= hitler

  • @outwar6010 outwar6010 = Troll

  • I agree completely ,people are too hung up on specs , mega pixels don't make a iota of difference in real world use ! juts look at samples from the newly released samsung wave , Mobileburn called it one of the best camera phones to date and it only has a 5 megapixel camera , also for HD video ,megapixels don't even matter cause recorded video only has 1.3 megapixels in it

So I have a feeling that Apple has surpassed or atleast tied with the samsung wave !

m which is already awesome for HD video

  • The mutitasking sounds great-Just wish I could use it for the iPod touch 2nd gen 16gig

  • The EVO's Front camera is 1.3 megapixels

  • 640x480= 0.35 mega pixel... the same as my good old Apple QuickTake 150 camera!

  • VGA has a resolution of 640x480, and 720p has a resolution of 1280x720. Great video, can't wait for the next one ^_^

  • lol 13:13 haha :P

  • DRBUK, i have the iOS4. Multitasking is awesome.

  • The Evo and all the other smart phones are trying to make there numbers seem the best, so they sacrifice quality. They made the pixels smaller to make camera seem better, and the fps of there camera is minuscule compared to the iPhone 4. When it comes to hardware in computers and laptops, they aren't the top of the line, but in phones, they have everyone beat. Period.

  • HTC Evo's front facing camera is a 1.3 MP

  • @JHan711 ahh right thanks !

  • @JHan711 so is iphone 4's right?

  • If the iPhone 4 has the Apple A4 chip like the iPad, would it have the same clocked speed? If it does, that would be sweet since the iPad's blazing fast, and i reckon that would be able to support the future API's for multitasking.

  • @bigboybalkis94

Yes it has. For a tiny screen compared to the iPad, pew pew!

  • i know you mentioned it a bit in your other video, but what colour would you get? (if youre getting it)

nice detailed videos, best in my sub box

  • I believe VGA is 640 by 480

    720P 1280 by 720

    1080P 1920 by 1080

  • Adrian, I may be wrong, but my K800i (yes, it's my phone, but no phone wars please xD) is a 3.2MP camera, then there's an option for 3.2, 2.0 (I think), then VGA). So I'm guessing VGA is around 1.5>1.8-ish. :/

    Looks better though.

Wish I had the money for an iPhone, but at least I get my dad's Blackberry in a few months... :)

  • @AmH032uTuBe My Same phone has multitasking...and its been out before the iPhone! Btw it would be lower quality below 1.5 MP, correct me if im wrong.

  • mutitaking good, bad, usefull

  • Dude do u no when the iphone 4 is coming out in UK

  • @roryjay7 24th June. You can pre-order from the 15th.

  • iPhone 4 is better then every phone that came out before it, enough said.

  • @IMPMAC The new iphone looks cheesy though,

  • Multi-tasking is not all that really for me. i dont really care if i cant run more than one program all i care about is how much battery i can have left. so Meh to Multi-Tasking. its nice to have on the iOS 4 but still Meh

  • @Applefanatic1984 Well think about it for the iPad..multitasking is important for that, whats the point of having iWork and safari on the the iPad and no multitasking...so it's important for ios4

  • @DRBUK well im on about on the iPhone i think i will use it on the iPad ya. but i mean for the iPhone 4 i just dont see the need i will use it and see how it goes for me but right now until i use it i dunno how it will really be. as i could not use it on my iPhone 3G running iOS 4 Betas.

  • @DRBUK That's a good point I just downloaded Pages on iPad but haven't used it yet because I'm not currently going to school but I'll definitely need Internet at the same time.

  • great video as always, I love these in depth overviews!
