i feel sad now. i made a soul eater scythe for my maka costume but it didn't turn out as good as yours. :( the blades all floppy and i only used one piece of cardboard so maybe that's why.

Actually this doesn't explain how cosplayers can make this without spending money since you're using paint. (only if cosplayers are lucky enough to find unused paints though)

BUT you're so CREATIVE! When I watched the anime and saw the scythe, made me think it's impossible to make. And in this tutorial, you make it look so easy! Even though it's not finished, at least you gave me an idea. ohh! I can't wait to make one. Thanks! :)

Easy:

Take a wooden pole from any sweeper...

second: with some wood plank (thin one) made a scythe blade and paint it

third: attach them...

four: paint the pole with silver spray...

five: Enjoy!!!!

Yeah, if ur gonna use it in a con, you'll prolly not be able to, cuz anything that isn't home made (cardboard, paper mache, etc.) wouldn't be allowed cuz it would be considered a weapon, but yes, metal would make it look real...I WOULD RUN O___O;;;

You really should have put more layers of cardboard in between the two you put on, just simply for structural strength. That thing has a very high probability of falling apart at a convention. Also, I don't know if you were going for accuracy or just the general idea of her scythe, but in order to get it to look like Maka's there were a few things you left out. It turned out looking alright in the end, you're just going to have to be careful with it.

it basically just a giant stick that was a prop left over from our last school production

but some pretty sturdy card board tubes should do the trick, or a painted broom handle would be best :)
