Russia, I have great respect for. Ingenious, tenacious, brave. Twice they were invaded by the west: Napoleon, then Hitler. Losing millions of their citizens to that aggression. How can anyone blame them for taking a hard stance following WWII and setting up defense systems the likes no one had ever seen, and creating an Eastern Bloc? Their citizens would have thought them irresponsible not to. All that I get, but it seems like the "Soviets" took their power too far over their own people.

While i will say that there is somewhat of an olgarchy in the US, there are many more people in this oligarchy, so many, in fact, that its really not much of an oligarchy. The wealth is much more distributed in the US with social welfare and other programs like Medicare and Medicade ect.
