The new character creation system is step 1 in a two step plan for an expansion that allows and will allow players to get out of their ships and interact on stations throughout the EVE Online Universe. The expansion is known as WiS, Ambulation and more commonly...Incarna. It is due for release the middle of this year and they have spent over 5 years on this single expansion.

Things got real personal with this update. Unfortunately, most of us will never put it to real use being that out characters were created when the only say we had in looks was what shirt they were wearing and how mad they were.

If you mean veteran players likely won't know what all to do with their new-found avatar customization options... I could see that dilemma. I'm okay, though. I won't be so concerned with recreating my old character(s), really, so much as seeing how good I can remake my main character, and a lesser extent with my alt.

i prefer the earlier build style with the full manipulability in toon creation, it looks like CCP have had to dumb it down for the players who whinge about lag when all they do is sit in market-hubs and load up the server.... pity had the chance to be truly epic

Watching EVE expand is so beautiful, they are adding so much it's getting insane. EVE is starting to feel like a real universe with something for everyone. Once Dust 514 comes out, for the first time ever the gap will be bridged between MMO players and FPS junkies. I can't wait to see where CCP takes this masterpiece in the future. Hey, maybe it will be like the matrix where you can plug yourself in after we all get brain implants, or the robots enslave us.

The APB editor and this editor are almost equal. APB doesn't let you edit every part of the body, but this does. Every other aspect of the APB editor is just represented visually, which I personally think is a lot cooler and easier to use.

The proportions on the body shown appear to be a bit off. The head seems too small for the body, and the legs are too long. Actually, they could probably correct both issues just by shortening the legs until the figure is 8 heads tall. Still, phenomenal. I might have to give Eve a try when this and the stationside additions make it into the game.

@RaddSpencer walk in stations will not affect the actual game which is spaceships. So if you dont like current eve you won t like it when WiS comes out.

@Latusajo Actually i will personally like EVE a bit more when WiS comes out, because i generally put a high value on immersion and low forms of rp in mmo's.

As it is now, eve is a game where you are a spaceship (same apparent size to your camera angle regardless if its a frig or titan) flying around, with WiS it will shift the entire immersion-perspective into being a character, a person, inside a huge spaceship.
