The original was the version featured on the album Brotherhood; that version primarily had bass as its main instrument with the synth barely audible in the background.
Best song ever - I remember going to high school saying I've heard the best song ever - & my private school friends were like "what?" I tried to sing it - they were literally not having a bar of it - until they heard it - dickheads
@MsDaniwoo "Bizzare Love Triangle" is one of the greatest songs in rock history. New Order mixes techno new wave and dance music, but they are basically new wave
Yap, I agree, this is my favorite, too. What a great arrangement. I mean, Bernard can't even sing, yet here he is! I really like Love Vigilantes, too, esp the bass.
@HigherLove70 settle down! you joy division fans are too sensitive for your own good! he was a great songwriter, a fascinating frontman and he had a great way of expressing his despair but he wasn't a tuneful singer. would you seriously describe his singing as great singing? i wouldn't. at the same, i believe that it was more of an art expression
@vibrio true but all i was doing was responding to dawncrk23. bernie isn't tuneful but he is tuneful compared to ian curtis. where's HigherLove70? he'll still be hypersensitive

When i think of 80's club tracks this is one of the first one that comes to mind. A powerhouse tune from 1987.

Despite what a lot of people say, this recording from the Substance album is the best version of this song. The beginning is so great.

@Graldaddy - I dont know who is saying otherwise, but I'm with you: the version off Substance is DEFINITELY the best version!!!

@dawncrk23 you should hear the band they were before they became new order. ian curtis, the singer of joy division can be rather unlistenable
