Well, wait a moment. I have tons of questions for this topic. for instance, why does this energy exist around us? If we tap into it, does it take something away? It's invisible energy, like radio wave. Will it increase cancer amongst people. How could we support an unquestioned energy? How do I best explain this to you people? zero point is the lowest energy that a quantum system (particle/wave/field) may have. This is basically a derivitive of the Heisenberg uncertainity principle which basically tells you can't know the exact location, velocity or energy of a quantum system. If said system had no energy you would be able to know it's exact location.

Every point in space must have a nonzero amount of energy to prevent this condition from occuring. Yes the energy is there, yes there's a large amount of it (by our standards) however you can't get any of it. If you did the space you extracted it from would have an energy lower than the zero point, a condition that's not possible due to the above mentioned principle. There's no free energy.
