This would have created additional revenue to help the country out of debt( revenue is necessary). It would also have lowered the rate of taxes. So by not raising taxes, but actually lowering them. But still the Republican congressmen and women couldn't come to any agreements and eventually we just raised the limit and kicked the can down the road.

@sr62664 most recently, the debt limit-he tried to restructure the tax system to eliminate loopholes. This would have created additional revenue to help the country out of debt( revenue is necessary). It would also have lowered the rate of taxes. So by not raising taxes, but actually lowering them. But still the Republican congressmen and women couldn't come to any agreements and eventually we just raised the limit and kicked the can down the road.

And actually he promised to enforce national drug laws regardless of state law; he promised not to go out the way to arrest sick people. So in actuality- he kept this campaign promise. :)

Democrats had control over the Senate, House and the White House for 2 years so they could pass whatever they want, which they did. THAT WAS 1 YEAR AGO. Obama passed what he wanted to "fix" things (health care, bailouts, etc.).

It is the job of the senate, NOT THE PRESIDENT, to audit federal agencies. 18 times George Bush called for the audit of fannie and freddie, and guess who ignored it. the DEMOCRATIC HELD senate. Had fannie and freddie been audited in 2005 as George Bush wanted, the mess could have been avoided. regardless of this, the blame can go around. reckless spending by republicans/democrats, and the recent regulations placed on business by democrats are killing us.
