Very interesting. I'd particularly be interested in forms of epilepsy which have an autoimmune etiology. Its too bad that the treatments for autoimmune problems are so drastic and expensive, with such devastating potential side effects. The trade off is worth it though if the dementia, epilepsy, psychosis etc can be reversed and held in abeyance. This study is truly a step forward in attempting to predict if a patient has a reasonable chance of responding to immune therapy . Blood test soon?
I am incredibly excited about this research! As someone with steroid-responsive encephalopathy + thyroiditis, this is music to my ears!
