everyone says the 2nd and 3rd movies werent as good. there was just as much cleverness to them. the ending where they show neo's energy leaving his body and returning to be with the collective experience, the main energy source, that was clever. and the cancelling out of smith due to the equation of good and bad becoming unbalanced..and how it wrapped up by the revealing of the fact that the oracle planted seeds to make the whole thing happen...it was brilliant. whoever wrote it is a genious.

To me it's pretty clear both Wachowskis do not have any solid philosophy about their own body of work, which is probably why their reluctant to talk about it. They gradually lost themselves in something which was originally a clever idea and turned it into a esoteric abomination.

@KCphantasmagoric I didn't know that , from what i can gather she didn't win and she said they offered her 7 million to shut up which she refused . It sounds like the wachowski brother's where infuenced by her script (if it's real) but then again there are lots of places where they got insperation from (ghost in the shell's is one of the most obvious) . Theres a good doc on here with ken wilbur on the different philposhys used in the film .

Indeed- the first shot of the Matrix Revolutions is of the Big Bang- the origin of Everything, which, on closer inspection, forms Machine City (composed of light) and then pulls back into fractal patterns.

When Neo and Trinity are falling towards Machine City at the end of the film, they are on a "crash course" toward Enlightenment.

(Note- that's my own interpretation.)
