  • President Obama is all doing us a huge favour by giving the American people a chance to live with healthcare support. Now don't listen to the Republicans because they are against your chance for Healthcare. Everyone of them Republicans are on the same boat trying to reject you from getting health care with this reform. If Japan,Canada and many others can live with National Healthcare are why can't the US? Cause they want to make money off the sick.

  • @unixjpn Really? Then why did Britain tell the US the it was a horrible idea? Why do people from Canada come to the US for health care?

  • If nothing is done now then our children will be paying Plus Interest! Sounds like a greate idea guys do absolutly nothing and hope it doesn't get worse anyways. Backdoor deals you mean? Gangsters? Republicans don't foreget to refer the R word to being the R word. If this passes we are 40 years in the making of getting health insurance just like Hawaii. Taxes will always increase because of inflation. Please oh please do your research before commenting gangtERs

  • backyard: "Do absolutely nothing"...

Backdoor deals (Union Exemptions, Big Pharma)

Or there's Obama's way (and yours) "Health insurance just like Hawaii"

Hawaii's had most of the Clinton health care proposal components in its Prepaid Health Care Act. Started in 1974 it's failed in two major goals, decreasing numbers of Hawaiis uninsured population and curtailing the ever-rising costs of health care delivery.

Shows all too clearly its favorite sons "Obama-Care" won't work

  • Here is a way to look at the healthcare reform. You can send mail USPS for small fee, and if you want to send via other options you pay extra. Then you have your private firms that provide similar services with other options. You still have to pay either way you chose to send your mail.

Healthcare will have to be structured in a way that includes preventative care, implemented modern technological networks, and standardized communication. Nice history, but what about now and then?

  • backyard: We can agree we need Healthcare Reform. But how to accomplish it?

Someone with maxed credit owns a Cadillac.

It leaks oil, needs tires & has dents, but it's given very good service.

A new Obamamobile "will get better mileage"

But most Obamamobiles cost more to operate than stated.

Obamacredit says: "Sure it's not what you want, make the payments anyway"

No turning back, the Cadillac gets destroyed when the Obamamobile is purchased.

It's much cheaper to fix the Cadillac

  • When you start anything there is an initial starrtup expense that is costly. That's with anything. So, what's your second point.... besides we agree on Healthcare Reform. Republicans want a means by them for it to get done. That was set forth in the beginning. Why now and not then is the questions? Not important? Different Agenda? hmmm.....let me go drink a martini.

  • simple facts health care cost to much and it will not decrease premiums and every one not only the wealthy would have there taxes go up all simple facts stated by the c.b.o

point is obama is a failure of a president lies after lies

  • Well, the way I see it history and facts don't seem to always help. Note Republicans study the past, but forget what is actually going on. We do however need to treat the disease, Republicans wanting it there way and there way only. On the other hand Democrats are taking into hand what is going on right now. It's time for change. I don't think a civil war will break out as long as there is compromise. We already know who would win ;). btw I'm straight liberal.

  • backyard: Republicans wanting it there way and there way only? It's Both sides of the isle.

Sounds kinda funny when the Dems have a majority and can't even agree among themselves.

Closed door meetings and backroom "deals" don't help their cause either.

Not to mention Obama doesnt listen to the majority of the country, only his little group of gangsters. He wants it to pass "no matter what"

Youre rite. It's time for change

It's time to reboot congress and the senate

    BTW who would win?

  • Republicans there are very geneous, they included on their health plan 300 hours of praying for cure , performed by a local register christian priest.

  • @ccarrera40 What a stupid idea! I'm calling Poe's Law.

  • Nancy Pelosi is such a bitch! She's just smiling all the time at nothing

  • Nacy is pretty for her age.

  • I am going to move to Sweden...

  • bye

  • Also, I have no doubt that Jesus doesn't believe in discrimination against sick people. Jesus would like to close the donut hole in Medicare Part D for our Seniors. Jesus would not want American to lose coverage while they are sick.

  • Jesus is fictitious

  • Health care reform had been debated for 50 years, it is about time to vote. Republican don't want reform. Bush had both houses, they could have reformed it the way Republican wanted. Republican DON'T WANT REFORM PERIOD. Insurance is the master of Repulbican party.

  • Jesus loves you and will save you from h.e.l.l.

  • where is jesus at the table dude?? are you the full quid?

  • actually in a recession its beneficial to spend money generates more revenue brings down inflation increases demand which leads to lager supplies which can lead to more invested capital from foreign sectors, just saying though........

  • that's just an opinion based on keynesian economics, in practice it actually skyrockets debt and creates a system that has a devastating effect on individualist capitalism

  • @BeforEvilsDemise

So when IS it good to cut back on expenses, then?

It's never good to spend money you don't have. Just wait until we default on the interest we're paying on our astronomical debt...

  • @jschob Is that a rhetorical question, or should we be mentioning the over 1. some trillion dollar deficit the U.S. government had before Obama was elected. Were you complaining, then? Honestly.

  • @AFallenLord

Oh we had a HUGE deficit already. I'm not as much complaining as I am justifying the fact that we shouldn't spend even more.

Then again, the ship's sinking and there's nothing we're going to do about it, so why not just make the end come faster?

  • Obama does not intend to renew the bush tax cuz for the wealthy. all those above 250,000 in yearly salary will go back to the taxes during the clinton era, back when we had a surplus. not renewing those taxes generates 1.1 trillion.

  • mihiry; President Clinton not only balanced the budget, but had a surplus? It's FALSE.

This is used as an argument to further highlight the fiscal irresponsibility of the federal government under the Bush administration.

to see Clinton's record promoted as having generated a surplus. It never happened. There was never a surplus and the facts support that position. In fact, far from a $360 billion reduction in the national debt in FY1998-FY2000, there was an increase of $281 billion.

  • Jesus can create money and pay for it.
