@Omdog1000 Agreed. In today's world, where you can easily get all of the music you want for free, why would anybody buy a cd? When you can carry around your music collection on an ipod or phone, the portability that made CD format so popular is redundant. More and more music fans that want to own a physical representation of the music they love are turning to vinyl. In 2004, less than 1million vinyl records were sold. In 2011, nearly 4million were sold while CD sales continue to plummet.
@GrungeyMr everyone is entitled too their own opinion - & mine is that CD's are better FOR ME!!! i can't say for the next DJ's - but FOR ME!!! i am comfortable & HAPPY with CD's
I have tried to use CD-es in the nineties but they did not sounded much better than this so I went back to use vinyl. This time I have used a few tricks though: top quality preamp and turntable, vacuum cleaner specially designed for vinyl records, special stands for the gear.
Hahaha. Vinyl sounds better then CD. And to the people who say "Oh! Well you can't put a damn record in a car!" You do know that most turntables now a days do have a USB plugin to where you can record you records to your computer right?
the record is oldest and longest used format for music. The old saying is records get scratched and wont play well so do cd's they will skipp too. theres just something about record that had endured and i believe that people will still be playing record long after the cd is gone.
@mcfuson37 CDs are near their death, most music is done online now days, and it is saved in a file. The only thing that can happen to a .mp3 file is that it becomes corrupt or you delete it. It will always sound the same as it did when you downloaded it, and you can have literally 1000s on 1 device smaller than any record or cd player.
wtf are u stupid dude, like seriously. A CD dosnt play from a needle, a laser reads the pitts and flats on it, and then comes out with an output. Its exactly like the needle on the record, just a different thing that does it. Dude ur dumb. And like the first comment said on here "put the vinyl into the cd player and check once again :P" - kmitka
vinyl sounds better, it's analog. analog will always sounds better than digital because it hasn't been changed into a representation in bits (digital). instead, it is the true waveform
Lol, no one needs to prove that vinyls sound better than CD's. Everyone knew that when the designs for the first CD were made in the 70s.. It's like any digital vs. analog comparison; when you listen to vinyl, you listen to music, and when you listen to CD's, you listen to coordinate points.
Which part of the vid was easier to see??? The cd part ( very steady no shaking) or the Vinyl part ( very shaking had no idea what the fuck was going on) lol but good vid made me laugh lol
If you take away vinyl's LF limitation(mixing to mono below 60-50Hz), and its tendency to wear and develop clicks and hisses, and play the record on a QUALITY turntable(A Dual or Technics NOT a Emerson child's record player!!) it is much closer to source tape than even WAV/CD.
wow and how many of those black things can you put in your HDD ? :D fucked right ? just stop this nonsence LP have no future they will die off one beautiful morning if not naturaly then I'll take care of it
@appzsk8 Oh I have a respect and I respect everything as it begun to now a days but technology wont stop and should not be stoped.. I like analogue stuff but the digital is the way it will be :D so people should just forget about LPs they are lame
@predvcecerom Lol you must have bad ears. You're probably the same guy who could never tune a guitar or sing. You have no business with any opinion about any music if you can't even hear the difference between LP's and CD. The fact of the matter is quality, not quantity. Lol idiot.
@predvcecerom You think mp3's are the future, but from the looks of vinyl sales lately it seems more like your living in the past. Vinyl will never die as long as there are audiophiles and people who love warm, full sounding music.
Okay, fuck it, I'm getting all kinds of flak from stupid assholes who are defending this joker and don't want to know the truth. I've been into vinyl since the '60s so if you want to know the facts I'll be happy to give them to you.
@49kasey the whole point is that people came here interested, and this guy has made a good joke of it. i laughed, as did many others. i find it hard to believe that you can't understand the fact that the video IS A JOKE
LP was better when the studios use reel to reel for their master, it was true Reproduction before 89, Now they use dat which is sample rate, still sound good, if you listen to a SACD which has about the same bit rate as a DAT deck DSD and 24-bit, 176.4 kHz PCM recordings, the music is recorded on to a dvd 7.3gb. It will sound better then LP, will cost you $800 for a good SACD player an also play CD'S and DVD's and you need a good receiver or preamp/amp.
You make so many misinformative videos that I really have to take issue with you and I am going to be coming after your ass from here on! You aren't funny and I don't appreciate your coming on like an expert especially regarding vinyl because you don't know shit. I have been well into audio for almost 50 years and I'm all about phono and loudspeakers and I am making it my mission to prevent you from misinforming people. JERK!
@SunlandCore No point in defending him. And I'm probably old enough to be your grandfather, so it's you that's the punk. The guy is a loudmouth coming on like he knows everything. Nobody likes someone like that, so just wise up, okay?
@49kasey Dude, fuck you he's kidding around. He's not acting like he knows it all. Just chill and don't act like you got shit up your ass 24/7. You need to lighten up.
@thedexterbros In all seriousness, not really. New vinyl on a slightly worn-in needle sounds better, but not a new needle. New needles are almost always too harsh on the first 15 spins or so.
@trumpet90909 Oh really? Well then, what I mean is a record is actually a sound wave on plastic or vinyl etc, hence it is more accurate to the recording than a CD, which is 0's and 1's, electricity is not needed to hear the sound on a record, just the friction of a needle - but yea I hadn't thought about that a new needle would be too harsh, good point
It is actually science. 16 bit and 42000 hz stands for the number of points a computer is putting on a cd during a certain time period instead of the actuall song. A vinyl has the actuall song on it. Its the original soundwave, the cd has just a digital reproduction of the music on it.

30 year old hipsters with deff ears. it is physically impossible for a vinyl record to produce the frequency range, clarity, and quality of a digital recording. do any of you realise what youre asking a needle to do? you cant possibly expect vinyl to be better, this is pure ignorance. its like saying a Ford Cortina from 1972 is faster and handles better around a track than a 2010 Ford Focus. it just WONT. vinyl has its place with its warm imperfect hiss and nuance, but thats where it ends.
@Stevenwilliams11 u seem to have miss understood the concept of a pisstake... and anyway vinyl has a warmer sound to it, u dont look at sound on a graph or on a chart u listen to it and the fact is most people when asked prefer the analogue sound of a vinyl as it is uncompressed as opposed the the digitally compressed sound of a cd or mp3.
@Stevenwilliams11 16-bit CD audio can't compete with vinyl in terms of sound quality. Too bad it's the standard, since digital audio can be so much better.
