Play this demo version on top of the NTSC 60Hz Sonic 1 version and you'll notice that the demo lags and keeps getting delayed. The truth is mate that this is a little slower than the in game version at 60Hz whether you wanna believe it or not, even more so than the Spring Yard Zone demo.
Once again it proves that all along Sonic music didn't have to be fast-paced.
This one's definitely set at 55Hz.

I really like this tempo. 60Hz seems just a little too fast, but this is pretty sweet.

@Adam060756 Even if this is a bit slower, this still is not fast. I wonder what the BPMs of these are, anyways.
