This looks pretty much what happened to my country. The mountains and hills got strip of trees because of peoples greed. Nobody ever did reforest it. So nothng is holding the soil from sliding down to lower elevations. Every heavy rain downpour would trigger landslide and floods because theres nothing to slow down the water from going to lower elevations.
