  • cool

  • this didnt work for me is the driver needed for it to work with candles cus the driver link is broken so if you could put up a new link or something that would be cool

  • or make a custom one like me

  • just turn on your wi after you have connected your wiimote to the pc and use the normal sensor bar

  • Thanks , Dude ! I Never Thought Of It...

  • how the fuck is that gonna help?

  • he said he didnt know any other way except candles so if u connect ur wiimote to pc 1st and turn the wii on after the sensor bar will be powered up and u can just use the original sensor bar

  • is it me or are thoose candles a little bit close to the moniter

  • yeah im afraid his screen is gonna melt

  • lol its like the house hold hacker, but more specific of how it works :D i love you <3

  • thats just.. wow, candles?! and they work? damn.. thats cool

  • Yes, if i remember rightly, the wiimote see's the flame as it would light from the sensor bar.

  • The Wiimote uses an infra red camera to track up to four points of light (generated by the IR sensor bar). It uses these lights as a reference in 3D space to detect where the wiimote is pointing. Since flames emit infra red light, they can be tracked by the wiimote.

Basic motion (movement and tilting) is calculated through accelerometers.

This 3D Infra Red and accelerometer tracking technology is used for motion capture by several animation companies as well.

  • nvm that

  • will something other than a bluetooth dongle work?

  • no thats how the wiimote connects to the wii

  • what is the IR?...NO...

  • infra red

  • I would NEVER put candles next to my monitor.

  • Ditto

  • ditto

  • hmmm... so i would guess that the sensitivity could be set by moving the candles away from or closer to eachother?

  • If this works, then there is no need for any Games Console. You have ruined the lives of many Sony and Nintendo employees and singlehandedly brought down a very profitable franchise.

  • how is sony affected? may i know the reason my good sir?

  • The Wiis' selling point was that no other console or any PC quite had the same style of gameplay- The wii was something brand new. Because the PC can do almost EVERYTHING the PS3 can do, and a good PC can do it all 10X better. Now that PCs can use this, there is no need for either.

  • Check your facts... PS3 is one powerful machine. Blueray, lots of cores and hackable/modable. A good PC to be equivalent PS3 these days costs around 3000-4000$. Blueray-player is REALLY expensive and it is hard to satisfy the computing power of all the cores. Just check out what PS3 did to Folding@Home. INSANELY increased the amount of computing power.

  • lol you are so funny 300$ that would be like 10 times more powerfull...i got a 1400 dollar pc and it is BILLIONS times better than your ps3

  • so you just get 2 candles and it works as infro red?

  • there is actually no infa red lol

from wat i understand the wiimote uses bluetooth and recieves from the sensor bar and sends to the wii. If it thinks it is getting a sensor bar it will send it to the wii, or the computer with bluetooth

  • close.

since candles arent hooked up to the wii how would it give data to the wii? The candle emits some light that is put into the wiimote and the wii gets it from the remote.

Thats how it works i think. correct me if im wrong.

  • so essentially the same function of the candles can work with regular flashlights. am i right?

  • not quite. read my other comment

  • its like a cycle

candles (or ir sensor) to remote, and remote to wii (or computer)

  • The sensor bar uses infa red light for the wiimote to use. the sensor bar just helps the wiimote tell where it is. So if u unplugged the sensor bar and lit some candles and put them on the top of the tv then it would still work.

  • If you could answer me compressedaudio, did your wiimote worked like "smooth"? Because I couldn't get mine to draw a proper circle for example. It seems to be having some kind of a lag, yet not noticeable when moving at a slow tempo.

  • wow I never knew ti works as a mouse

  • How do you get it to connect via BlueSoleil ?

I get it in the list refresh the service to conenct to HID, which seems to works fine (it turns green and have that animation where it sends data from the wiimore to the computer), but the LEDs won't stop blinking (until manually disconnecting from BS), yet no program detect it (GlovePIE and the others).

A video of that part would be great help to see at which moment I get it wrong.

  • i cant wait for the ps3

  • i heard that with the GlovePIE you can play FPS, like halo in the PC, is that true? i dont think so

maybe you can only play simple FPS

  • it is very possible indeed - i have been able to play counter-strike using wiimote and IR. Takes a bit of getting used to though.

  • i am going to do that so soon i get 1 usb bluetooth thing and my new usb 2.0 ports

  • You mind posting links for the exact script you used and how you got wiimote to work with the IR. (I can't figure it out.) I have the motion down, but its pretty rough having to tilt right to move right and to tilt left to move left. Thanks

  • nice :D time to part with some cash and get a bluetooth dongle ;)

  • lol, cash, u need 5 dollars tops, go to a local dollar store, buy a cheap wireless mouse, and use that one, simple... i use this thing...
