What's the story behind this dance? By the way this June 6 is the 5th anniversary of the death of the 5th Beatle...there should be a nationwide moment of dancing in his honor.
@robedo79 His dancing's much derived from James Browns' dancing from the same era. That one-foot shuffle was a James' trademark. But to me, Billy's dancing here looks like a parody of, rather than homage to, Browns' talents. It's safe to assume Billy was incapable of doing the splits, anther James' trademark. And thankfully, Billy refrained from trying to duplicate James' cape routine!
Hi Rob, thanks for your interesting take on Billy's dancing. I must say I do not agree though, well not wholly. Sure Billy may have been influenced by the great James Brown of the same era but I think Billy was more influenced by eras previous to his and greats such as Nat King Cole and as we know he was a child prodigy very much forming his own unique style in all aspects of entertainment very early on. I would like to think that Billy did not parody, homage maybe, biased of course!@Bobjb999
Billy makes Ray seem dull, not to take anything away from Ray for he is nothing short than brilliant. So where does that leave Billy? Extra super Brilliant??
