They might have had it playing in HD in the shop. Or possibly they could have been playing a Blu Ray disc through it. One more possibilty could be that you are sitting too close to the TV. Hope this helped.

The picture settings I used to have were great but I had to disconnect my tv to move it and when I turn it back on it looks horrible.. I don't remember the exact picture settings I used to have and now it just looks yellowish and people have blue lips.. I just want to know if you can pleaz give me your exact picture settings. I tried to put the same that you have but you don't show the advanced picture settings.. Thanks

Don't buy this TV! My family had the exact same model and after 4 months it refuses to turn on. All I get is the orange light blinking 3 times in a row in a continuous pattern which is pretty much endless! Don't buy! BEWARE....
I bought this television and it has been nothing but problems. The sound is horrible and there is a 1.5" vertical discoloration on the screen from top to bottom. Toshiba's local repair shop in Minneapolis ( Alex audio video ) has had it for going on three weeks and has no idea if or when it can be repaired. I am told it can take up to four months. To add insult to injury, the people at Toshiba are belligerent and unsympathetic.
The set started out fine. But about six months after purchase. the image problems began. The issues have been exacerbated by an incompetent warranty servicer ( Alex audio video and computer service ) here in Minnesota. I hope you set continues to work for you, but it doesn't, beware of Toshiba customer service.

this is not a good tv, just read the review from PCWorld and there is much talk about the green push. (plus it weighs 75lbs)
Also, stores never price match internet prices so kermit here got lucky.

I have the Latin American (Caribbean) version, 42hl57 and as I type I have no TV to play my PS3.
When it did work it was awesome really, but after 3 months of purchase my input channels all blink intermittently.
So by this week it will either be a repair or I will demand a refund.
