  • that girl is so hot i want to marry her and make alien babiesss

  • When I was a kid I thought that machine at 0.10 was a novelty minature dalek

  • OMG! she can abducted me any time ;-x

  • drop a couple tabs and watch this vid, you're replay button will feel violated. The song, the beautiful girl and those fucking great jeans. Epic

  • what song is this??

  • She is one sexy lady

  • Stop criticing the full version of the song. The version used in this is "Spaceman (The 5th Dimension)" - that's the name, it's only the sped up stuff. I can't believe you have so much hate just because some advert - which doesn't claim to advertise the song - used the 5th f-ing dimension version which was on one of the versions of the single anyway. You bought the single - was dissapponited - so play the flipping b-side, it's just the sped up

  • @BringItBackITV "Spaceman (The 5th Dimension)" isn't actually the proper version either. It sounds like it, but it never actually breaks into the famous bit, and is basically just 5 minutes of noodling that goes nowhere.

  • @MyNameIsChriddof The version i have isn't on the single it's on a compilation. It runs for two minutes actually but still has "spaceman, i always wanted...."

  • Jeans were not that practical in the the dance days of the '90s, but this was Levi's jeans getting into the scene, just as it had become mainstream. It's shit like this that killed off the dance scene.

  • Hundreds of years from now, people will somehow be impressed with jeans we had today.

  • @Cocksalsa We are.

  • Loved this advert I agree with most people full version of song was quite a disappointment compared to streaming in ad

  • was that the bomb funk mcs with the skateboards?

btw, what the hell was that all about??

  • @lamCh1215

I think you're right. The kid in the Freestyler video is called Marlo Snellman and he was about 15 in 1999/2000 when Freestyler came out, whereas this advert and the Babylon Zoo track date from 1996, making Marlo about 12 at that time. Cool hair, though.

  • forget the song look at the bird in the jeans

  • Best part of the track. The rest was a steaming pile of shit.

  • @dovestones wicked steaming pile of shit ace.

  • Bangin' advert--saved me from MASSIVE boredom after i moved to Manchester from SF to be with my fiance, who was working 14 hour days. where are production values like this in the US? and edginess?

  • i remember people buying it complaining that it was nothing like the song on advert as in the actual song is like this and is only a tiny portion of it and rest is slow

  • This was a pretty nice ad considering it was the mid 90s.

  • So was there ever a full version of this sped up version of the track, or can you only get the crappy Babylon Zoo version?

  • Souvenirs ;-)

  • 0:30 Is that the kid from the Freestyler music video?

  • @OKauyon81 Looks way too old to be him, d'you not think? I see the resemblance though.

  • i realy miss the 90`s too

  • Bellissimo Spot che su MTV negli anni '94 - 95 mi faceva sognare. Bellissima atmosfera!

  • those were the days

  • funny ad

  • sweet song, sweet pants, sweet girl, what else? i miss 90s!!!

  • Wow, I'm so young

  • the rest of the song sucks arse

  • Ah, the memories...

Anyway, to go with the other explanations, the main reason it got to number 1 was because if i remember correctly it had already reached number 1 through pre-orders before the song was even released. (Jan 96?- i haven't checked)

At the time even in mid-brit pop, there was a big dance/happy hardcore/fantazia style music scene that i presume were the main eager orderers of this track only to be disappointed by the actual slow heavy inde rock offering it actually was.

  • freestyler xD

  • I don't know how any of you can say Spaceman was shit. Last time I checked, Jas Mann went further in life then you fucking bastards.

  • @ApocalypticSea Last time I checked Jordan/Katie Price had got further than me by flogging her tits and kids to anyone who would buy 'em. Dont mean she's any good. It was a shit song, and always will be.

  • thank you younghastings1066.

  • From the year 1997? <3 Can anyone remember? I remember seeing the advert on TV and it was around that time. =p

  • is the spacegirl Milla Jovovich any one know?

  • @plesseyboy

    Kristina Semenovskaya

  • it may have sold thousands, but millions of others did not buy it

and i was one of them sorry

  • Great ads levis did, shame they don't make them now.

  • more levis adverts, less M&S adverts!

  • they edited the song for this ad cuz even levi knew it sucked

  • @CrustyClaps Fuck you read the lyrics faggot

  • @jayathjayath i already did ya dick head, hence my disapproval

  • @CrustyClaps Then who gives a shit about the sound, and btw the original sold thousands so eat a dick cunt

  • Comment removed

  • I dont know how, but THIS SONG IS SOOO ADDICTING AND CATCHY!!!!!

  • The irony here being that the chick in the video is wearing jeans properly and looks a million times sexier than the chicks nowadays who wear jeans half off their ass

  • I miss the 90's the commercial rocks... when i was just a kid everyone just talk about it...and sing the song... there was another memorable levi's commerical try to search portisehead glory box levi's commercial. They don make like this one anymore. Levi's should bring back this kind of commercial. It makes you wonder and you enjoyed it. Don you guys agree?

  • @AeroPolice Different things appeal to new generations, comercials will be so different every ten years

  • mp3ify is online destination to dl this song. google mp3ify.

  • Wendy Elizabeth Hagan... After all these years I still think of you.

  • @verybigheart Who? The model in the vid was Kristina Semenovskaya.

  • For a time Levi's were the king of ads, this an the stiltskin song rocked beyond belief.

  • I have a massive problem with this track: the advert played all the best bits of this song and everyone went mental over it. "When is this single coming out etc etc?" Then the single came out and it ended up being a wanky slowed down version of the advert version. No wonder Babylon Zoo died a quick death! Fail!!!!

  • @stroudiemusic

    lol i have to agree.

  • @stroudiemusic i don't really agree with you, i like the rest of the song minus the fast parts! although i heard the song first, never saw the commercial until now

  • Babylon Zoo had some ultra-weirdo frontman far too much in love with himself, who cleverly sacked the guy responsible for producing the amazing production on the chipmunked version. It is that production of an essentially mediocre record that made this single so astonishing to listen to-for thirty seconds.

You'd think some one could remix the thing and make a decent full-length track out of it, but while many have tried, they either sound shit or are essentially a continuous loop.

  • @stroudiemusic the advert is older than the babylonzoo song

  • @stroudiemusic you have that spot on

  • @stroudiemusic Why so sad stroudiemusic? Just search for Babylon Zoo Spaceman Remix. There is like a bizillion of them, so you can be happy again :P

  • @stroudiemusic yep i remeber the premier on TOTP we all couldnt belive how totally wank the real version was. total shite man.

  • @stroudiemusic The parts that are played in this advert are the worst part of the song.

  • @stroudiemusic atleast the kovenant made brilliant cover from it

  • @stroudiemusic it's only the intro of the song that's played in the advert.....

  • @stroudiemusic there IS however a full version where the entire track sounds like this, i know because i had it at some point, i've just been looking for ages trying to find it again,

  • @siriusblack9999

Here IS that version you have been looking for ages

    watch?v=ADBQx0AsXzs

    You welcome! ;)

  • Loved the song; but the girl in the ad is SO hot!!

  • THIS AD WAS AT THE END OF 95' AND THIS AD MADE THE FASTEST SELLING SINGLE IN THE UK EVER AT THAT TIME!!!

  • Is it just me or does that look really like Bomfunk MC at 0:30?

  • @alieu156

lol ah yea! i remember this what year was it? 1997 ?

  • @alieu156 "FreeeStylaah!"

Thought the exact same thing myself.

  • I think I still have that levis poster somewhere

  • lol and im addicted to this song

  • One of the few 90s tv plug which stuck on me.. lol this is one cool vid. The expression of the neighbors were priceless... hahahahaha

  • This ad rules!

Nowadays ads are relentlessly flashing images that hurt the eyes.

I wont even look at them.

  • have you not seen the smirnoff ad? that is also a masterpiece. you cant deny that. i mean i hate adverts too.. but it is a good one.. and the ford ka advert "go find it". pure genius!

  • Wish they would run this ad again.

  • jas is vegan?

  • now i want to go into space

  • They do not make them like this anymore. God I miss the 90's.

  • @slovan u mean the song or the jeans?

  • @makalevis The song.

  • Well nenver 4get thios advert for my life the tune was the best i rushed out a brought it thinking the song was gonna drop wicked and wot a piece of shit the song was !!!!

  • JAZZ MAN!!!! woohoo!! :D

i wanna fucking go back to college now!

  • she was amazing!! who was she? she looked a bit like jolene blalock from enterprise! lol

  • BRING BACK THE 90'S

    FUCKING NOW!

  • the 90s rocked!

  • I remember first watching this when I was a kid, I was about 6 or 7. It came on in the ad break between Noel's House Party! ...

I don't know why I rememberd that though hahaha!

  • @FakeAdminBlarg Noels House Party was a BBC show, so there were no ads...

  • meh. must have been some other show then. It was 15 years ago

  • Yeah well it was not worth my even saying really.

    *facepalm*

  • The BBC don't have adverts :0

  • ...thanks for that

  • It's Babylon Zoo "Spaceman"

  • coul someone tell me the actual singer of that song?? or even better the link to it?? COZ I LOVE IT SOO MUCH!! :D

  • Babylon Zoo - Spaceman ;)

  • @wuozebi: dat's right! any1 remember the huge embarassment on BBC's Top of the Pops when they had him on?!? started the song off just like the ad... then slowed it to normal speed... and THEN everyone realised how they'd been conned into buying the single... the rest of the song was C-R-A-P!!!

    BWAH-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA -- XD !!!

  • @wuozebi no intro is not babylon zoo babylon stoled it

  • I loved this ad so much when I was 12. The song reminded me of a boy I liked. They called him Spaceman cause he had big eyes. They were gorgeous and so was he.

  • Oh shit I remember this shit !!!!

  • I saw a clip of this ad in my art class when we saw a video about how the art behind advertising makes people want to buy the product.

  • Comment removed

  • Brings back a few memories. Man I miss the 90s.

  • who is the girl in this commercial what is her name?

  • Kristina Semenovskaia

  • an add that has stuck with me since I first saw it, hot song, hot babe......

  • Lead singer was ex of the forgotten 'Sandkings", was very arrogant, this song only registered after Fatboy Slim Sped it up at the start and the end to be the song we all love! Live gigs by Babylon Zoo started with this track, then other mundane songs, to finish with- this track.

  • LOL

  • its by Babylon Zoo, Spaceman.

  • It was Jan 96, freezing cold, drinking at my mate's house watching out for the ad breaks - we both fancied her, bought the Levis...and the single. God, advertising worked!

  • lmao... indeed... mass manipulation.

  • OMG!! i remember this ad!! man that must of been like 1995-6 or somthin! i fancied her!!! lol

  • is there any way to get this version of the song? does it have a name?

  • I've often wondered the same. All I know is that this was remixed especially for Levi by someone who realised the chorus would be good if mixed up a bit. As far as I know, it was only that one part of the song that was mixed for the commercial though.

I don't know if you agree, but the original version, wasn't very good. It was the mixing of the chorus that made it sound so good.

  • believe me, i fucking agree, every time i try to find the one that i like, i always end up with the original...

  • The mis you are looking for is called: Spaceman (Arthur meets the spaceman)

It fortunately does not slow down into dirge in the middle.

  • The Song is from Babylon Zoo "Spaceman" I bieleve its from the Single named "The Boy with the X-Ray Eyes" but im not sure, maybe you found the title on a "best of the 90th" CD´s.

  • Video id = ADBQx0AsXzs

    There it is.

  • i'd like Alvin and the Chipmonks to do a version of this

  • This commercial has style

  • sexyist alien ever

  • this is the best remix haha

  • This is just a great commercial and a great song too.

  • I remember when this advert came out I was still in high school. Everybody thought the song was really cool then we all saw TOTP and we were like WTF!! lol they should have just looped the song to repeat it would have been much better, Oh and the Jazz man fron the group was a prick so it didnt help them.

  • I so agree the part used only for the commercial was awesome but the rest of song was seriously shite! This add rocked though!

  • MrInmyopinion

    this guy is a joke

  • I am glad you find me so funny thanks.

  • Bang on :-)

  • One of my fav add's!

  • i loved this part of the song since i was realy lil.

    i love youtube =]

  • just shame the rest of the song was such a dissapointment...

  • The song as a whole wasn't THAT bad.

  • Such A song this, (Y)

  • ¡¡LOL!!

  • oh my god. That Alien girl is so sweet.

btw. funny image of future back in mid 90´s

  • Haha, I remember this, the song spaceman went to no 1 shortly after this ad, the good ol days.

  • Omg ...

  • i remember this song wen i was like 5 lol

  • this was out around 1996 wasn't it?

  • Something like that, yeah.

    Awesome ad.

  • November 1995

  • She was a Russian Fashion model called Kristina Semenovskaya. 5 feet 10 inches tall with size 9 feet. The surprising thing tho is that I think she was only about 14 years old when this ad came out in 1994!!!

  • really? this is insane she is fit.

  • Yep - very true

  • Are we pedos??????????

  • hell no brother, u no its right

  • This conversation is epic win.

  • this advert made the original song really disapointing cos the chimpmunk thing doesnt come in till the end.

    this version is way better

  • where can i find this mp3? nooo one has it..not even itunes

  • whats that name of the song

  • spaceman---- babylon zoo

  • I remember this advert. What a classic.

  • 90's were not that bad after all

  • Levi was the reason babylon zoo made it to #1. They remixed it to this speed, hence the intro to the released song, and then standard speed. Wow, i'm so sad for knowing that and have no idea where i heard it, but it's plausable enough to be true.

  • i remember this advert

  • so do i lol

  • so do i

  • Isn't that the kid from the bomfunk mcs music video for freestyler at 0:30?

  • i was gna ask that aswell lol

  • No, that is not the kid, the levis advertising was in the year 1994/1995, and the bombfunk mcs freestyler music came after 2000. So the kid would be round about 4 when the levis ad was made, when you look at the Levis ad, the boy is round about 12 or something like that at 0:30. So no it cannot be him

  • great version of spaceman! the music and the fit girl make the advert good!¬1

  • haha I can't remember how long ago I saw this ad before, but I loved the song since.

gosh, 90s' retrofuturism trend looked so cool, & all the acid colours!

  • Jesus, when this advert was on telly I used to think that girl was bloody gorgeous - seeing her now she looks about 12.

  • she was 14 at the time...
