  • How do you know when melons are ready to pick?

  • Nice work man, definitely nice work.

  • Awesome for you! FL is SO different than IN would encourage you to contact your local agricultural extension agent for tips on gardening in FL. You guys grow really good onions and tomatoes down there. Best wishes to you!

  • I'm glad I checked back here or I would have missed this too. I didn't get an email for your responses. I gardened on a small scale for two years. I've found out what onions work best here. And I did find out on my own tomatoes grow very well. I have more land now that I have my own house and am looking forward to starting my garden this year.

  • It was so neat to see how your garden grew from the start to this point. I'm in Florida and looking forward to starting my veggie garden in the spring.

  • There's a book called 'Putting Food By' that you might be interested in.

  • Excellent suggestion. I just finished reading the reviews and I'm ordering a copy off of Amazon. My only resource besides the web is the Ball Blue Book. I could use another source, particularly one that goes into all the reasons behind the methods of food preservation. I was able to get five more quarts of tomato juice and six pints of BBQ sauce today. The BBQ sauce is a little thin, but it's pretty tasty for my first attempt.

  • It'll be called "fall garden 2007". trying to get info

on what grows best in the fall in N. Carolina due to the unpredictable fall weather and mild temp. look out 4 it or go to my blog. will have a vid up 2morrow

  • I meant fall season garden

  • Cool! I look forward to seeing it!

  • you are an inspiration man. I had a good garden when i harvested lettuce, tomatoes, pepper, cabbage, snaps and possibly 2 watermelons. keep a look out on my winter garden I'm starting. will post vid in mid august when i plant the collards.

  • Beautiful vegetables! Good luck with the composting.

  • Thank you!

  • wow! this is amazing! wait till next year. we shall compete! that would be fun, eh? im gonna make a video of my garden when the sun comes up, so keep posted! and again, very beautiful garden!

  • Let me know when you get your garden video up. Yea, friendly competition is cool :-)

  • its up now. its not even closely good as your garden but check it out!

  • wow!! your garden is really doing good. my beans are loaded with flowers but no beans yet.

  • Watch those beans closely. I think those things can grow two inches over night. One day they're not ready to pick and you look away and they're all ready! :-)
