  • All this without any autotuning, helping tracks, smoke OR mirrors! And look at how much fun they're having. This is the beauty of live music.

  • I just got mad. This is musical orgasm.

  • They betta sang.....timeless

  • O.O

  • Sensational performance from the musical variety TV show "Night Music": featuring Dianne Reeves, David Peaston, and the show's host David Sandborn on alto sax. Thanks for this amazing video. Bring back "Night Music"!!!

  • They sing well But use the vocal exercises beyond what is necessary

I make the letter pair lose the sense and feeling which contains

    sorry i dont speak English

  • @fumogalo No offense, but while you don't speak English, you also don't understand African-American blues & Jazz culture either.

Not that you're not entitled to your opinion. Check out improvisation and what that means.

  • Man I can't believe it. I had this on VHS years ago and lost it. One of the greatest musical moments ever on TV. This is a classic example of a blues done right.

  • i love how he takes the top and she takes the bottom

  • burning

  • This is the 1st time i've seen this video and all I can say is WOW... I sooo wish they had done a cd together..their voices just meld together I always liked both artists seperately, but together they are a powerful duo!

  • Now I see who jill scott tries to imitate

  • Now that's some POWERFUL sanging, I dare any of today's singers to match it...

  • @ghost61982 They betta sang! but there's plenty great singers like Ledisi, J. Hudson, Fantasia and more who could match it in their own way.

  • You just named some of my favorites....I also want to through Rachelle Ferrell up in there too.

  • @Rmasai yes, I was mentioning very contemporary artists though.

  • I got you.....I agree....

  • When people have fun and they really dig each other, spiritually or wherefore, there is no storm on Monday, and Tuesday is never bad; Wednesday is time for a wurst, and Thursday cannot be sad. The eagle will fly on Friday, no matter, and Saturday remains a play day, Sunday is always time to fall on your knees, but you don't have to pray.

Lord, have mercy, your baby will come home to play.

Dianne and David can sing the blues with Bessie and Satch. Long live the blues!!

  • I like your take!

Personally, I can fall on my knees any day of the week. But I do not know who to pray to.

Music gives me such joy and relief.

  • You can always pray to Prez, Bird, 'Trane, Duke, Count, Billie, Sassy, Ella, Mr. B, Jug, Jaws....need I say more?

And, don't forget: Newk is still with us.

  • Oh my God, they are singing, I mean really , really singing. Wonderful, so soulful. Wish they had a CD, do they?

  • awsome performnce

  • There was a time that anyone who wanted to sing professionally knew they had to be up to this caliber or be embarassed. Not any more.

  • Now that is what I am talking abot..thats singing..ya feel me??????????????

  • YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now that is soul.

  • Damn....

  • Oh my!!! It does not get any more soulful and special than this!! A real GEM!

  • miller on upright! that's a rare one!

  • Now THAT is SANGIN'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is awesome. Such a nice version. But then I just love Dianne Revees' voice. And that great band!

Does anyone know whether this is available on disk or mp3?

    Thanks

  • brillant video of dianne and david dianne knock me when i see her ... saw her last month in london...

  • Dianne & David are super great in this video. Will

love to see them more fecuently singing blues.

Can anyone please tell me what is the David Sanborn Show. TKS

  • THE FUCKING TRUTH! What singing should be.

  • they are clowning! I love this video, I would like this on dvd.

  • Where can I get this on CD

    I want it NOW

  • Man, thanks for the post! I remember when this came out live in '88. Gave me chills then & now. Great Show, the talent was crazy on this show (in addition to the ones listed) George Duke used to be on there all the time too!!

  • whis that on sax ?

  • David Sanborn

  • @sibica123 David Sanborne

  • Can somebody please explain to me why David Peaston did not become a megastar? The guy is awesome. Simply awesome.

  • I agree. I bought his first album with that killer version of "God Bless the Child" on it. Something tells me his general resemblance to Luther Vandross (big man, crooning love songs) made him seem redundant to record labels. I know he had an additional career in those gospel stage plays, God help him!

  • Did you get his 2006 release titled "Song Book: Songs of Soul & Inspiration"?

  • Wonderful!

  • It. Does. Not. Get. Better. Than. This.

No no no no no ....

    completely outstanding.

Thank you for posting it up here.

Thanks to my friend Raskell5 for sharing it as a feature on her channel!

  • youtube kicked me off, I'm back and also you are welcome for the post.

  • first male vocalist to really wow me

  • wow.

  • He is just originale!

  • The singing was incredible, but wow what a house band... Omar, David, Marcus, and Hiram Wow to Infinity +1

  • Just incredible

  • That was it for me, just loved it.

  • Yeaaaaaaa both incredible- I loved David after watching him on Showtime at the Apollo, I even saw him supporting Gladys Knight in my home town- and he was amazing then- made me cry :D

Just a beautiful guy and an amazing singer.

    Cheers now! :)

  • Two Great Talents!

  • Now that's a JAM SESSION...Dianne Reeves, David Peaston, and David Sanborn!!!!
