If most of the deaths in plane crashes are from people who can't remove the seatbelt, why do planes need seatbelts? It seems like it does exactly the opposite of what it's designed for.

@JervisGermane The seatbelts are a problem for the people who survived the crash. Making sure noone survives the crash would solve the seatbelt problem, but I'm not sure it's the way to go.

The ear lobe thing- even if the parents have dominant hanging lobes, they can have a child without them, if they both are heterozygous. The chance is only 25%, but it can happen.
