That has to be a wood pecker! He's just camera shy! ;) LOL!! I love how you say..."That's the biggest wood pecker I've ever seen in my life!" You're hilarious!!
@SmokeyClaws Ha it is the biggest woodpecker I ever saw, he he sometimes things just fall out of my mouth- like stating the obvious, good job on my part...
Wow, he is stunning with such vibrant red feathers. I am so glad you shared this with me. Thank you! I could see how Woody Woodpecker was perhaps based on this bird.
It caught me by surprise as you could hear, I thought the bird was cool and then once I found out they are not seen everywhere I thought, well, Youtube... you're welcome! The cat I looked at was adopted by someone else btw- but at least I know he went to a good home!
He is a cool fella... and in regards to the kitty I kind of thought he was. Perhaps in time another will pull at your heart strings. I know any kitty would be lucky to be adopted by you and I think Harley would agree.
HECK! That pesky bird just won't stay still! How do we get closer if it won't keep still. That tree seems awful big to climb:and hey: it gets to have its own restaurant:food always to hand.Boy:it even has its own hairdresser! That is one cool bird!
He he it might take a group effort by the Cat Mafia were they to climb that tree to chase Woody here- it was the size of a crow with that sharp bill, and very agile!
Awesome video. I live in Florida, and about 5 years ago I had a very large one in my yard. A member of the local birdwatchers society lived across the street, and within a few minutes, there were 15-20 birdwatchers out there with their cameras! They are very beautiful, aren't they?
@BonBonBatman They are striking, and I can believe the bird watchers "flocking" (groan, I know) to see it, especially since its only in the east half of the US that you see them.
@wyliesnyder I think that is what the bird was trying to go after in that bird feeder- that nature center is great when the weather is bad, I'm going to check it out further!
These are fantastic shots its WOODY WOODPECKER hes making a house for himself and the soon too be family maybe is that why they peck into trees too make a nest, ?? I love his Punk Rock hair do its really great fantastic footage my friend rare bird for your part of the world you were saying , we dont have any at all i dont think i must check brilliant all the people are excited too see him spring is coming too town xxxxxxxxxxxs Cathy
@Irishtankgod Yes they make huge holes in the trees for their nests- I think these birds are only here in my part of the world, I though folks would want to check them out! Spring is coming Cathy, thats right!
This footage is amazing my friend . You have done an excellent job filming this lovely bird. They are stunning to watch . Beautiful birds .
