  • This footage is amazing my friend . You have done an excellent job filming this lovely bird. They are stunning to watch . Beautiful birds .

Thank you so much for posting ! :)

  • @Jazzgirl8888 Thank you- that is a cool bird and I have heard them since then working on trees- they are loud too!

  • That has to be a wood pecker! He's just camera shy! ;) LOL!! I love how you say..."That's the biggest wood pecker I've ever seen in my life!" You're hilarious!!

  • @SmokeyClaws Ha it is the biggest woodpecker I ever saw, he he sometimes things just fall out of my mouth- like stating the obvious, good job on my part...

  • I want one on my camera. lol

  • No not that nice expensive camera, yikes...

  • Oh you mean the picture lord I'm dense.

  • Wow, he is stunning with such vibrant red feathers. I am so glad you shared this with me. Thank you! I could see how Woody Woodpecker was perhaps based on this bird.

  • It caught me by surprise as you could hear, I thought the bird was cool and then once I found out they are not seen everywhere I thought, well, Youtube... you're welcome! The cat I looked at was adopted by someone else btw- but at least I know he went to a good home!

  • He is a cool fella... and in regards to the kitty I kind of thought he was. Perhaps in time another will pull at your heart strings. I know any kitty would be lucky to be adopted by you and I think Harley would agree.

  • Beautiful bird, woody was always my fav ...

  • Woody is an independent thinker for sure, and full of mischief- fun cartoons!

  • Such a beautiful big bird!!

  • It really is striking, yep!

  • Hi there hmm very vivid red on the head 5***** and the woodpecker oscar:)nice work.

  • HI there my friend, your video arrives soon- and did you see the otter I captured on video? I was so darn proud of myself lol, take care

    Badbearwatch

  • They are on of my favorites!:)

  • @proofisinthepudding Hi there, yes they stand out- and they are easy to film since they are so big!

  • HECK! That pesky bird just won't stay still! How do we get closer if it won't keep still. That tree seems awful big to climb:and hey: it gets to have its own restaurant:food always to hand.Boy:it even has its own hairdresser! That is one cool bird!

    The Cat Mafia!!

  • He he it might take a group effort by the Cat Mafia were they to climb that tree to chase Woody here- it was the size of a crow with that sharp bill, and very agile!

  • Great footage..I am impressed...

  • @weezie63 Thanks Weezie, I hope that you got to see my river otter I filmed the day after, too!

  • Such a beautiful bird. Thanks for sharing.

  • @msblu5353 You're welcome, hope things are going ok for you there, thanks for watching!

  • What a beautiful big bird!

  • @HannaMadonna Yep she caught the eye of quite a few people there that day!

  • Awesome video. I live in Florida, and about 5 years ago I had a very large one in my yard. A member of the local birdwatchers society lived across the street, and within a few minutes, there were 15-20 birdwatchers out there with their cameras! They are very beautiful, aren't they?

  • @BonBonBatman They are striking, and I can believe the bird watchers "flocking" (groan, I know) to see it, especially since its only in the east half of the US that you see them.

  • This is great. I would love to get footage like this. We get these once in a while....if I put out woodpecker suet. but the squirrels get it.

  • @wyliesnyder I think that is what the bird was trying to go after in that bird feeder- that nature center is great when the weather is bad, I'm going to check it out further!

  • These are fantastic shots its WOODY WOODPECKER hes making a house for himself and the soon too be family maybe is that why they peck into trees too make a nest, ?? I love his Punk Rock hair do its really great fantastic footage my friend rare bird for your part of the world you were saying , we dont have any at all i dont think i must check brilliant all the people are excited too see him spring is coming too town xxxxxxxxxxxs Cathy

  • @Irishtankgod Yes they make huge holes in the trees for their nests- I think these birds are only here in my part of the world, I though folks would want to check them out! Spring is coming Cathy, thats right!

  • That is so cool.

  • @couchpotatotheatre thanks I thought so he he :))

  • What a handsome bird... I definitely see the Woody Woodpecker resemblance :)

  • @fehquig yep, talk about a redhead :-0

  • He is really going to town on that tree. ^_^

  • @Laoch111 They build large nests in rectangular shaped holes if you can believe it- that one was just getting started...

  • They are industrious little fellows!
