  • thanks a lot man! i can understand it better now!

  • did yer daddy let you film that or was this filmed while he was out of town?

  • All u beginners out there will get used 2driving a stick n itl become like 2nd nature 2u, even easier than u expected.. But eventually sumthing surprising will happen, ul realize all the older ppl that told u 2get n automatic cuz "ul get tired of shifting n its 2much like work" jst never totally got the hang of it themselves... good luck, but u wont need it

  • very good, short, informative video. this is actually what i had problems doing.

  • i like this video because.... i learned to drive stick in an 04 jetta gli 6spd lol... i learned last summer and i've been addicted to driving stick ever since its soo fun!!!

  • @blazinballa23 VW's are like the best cars you can learn manual on (:

  • @mobsterbillyjoe definetely their so quick and such a smooth ride!!!:) now i drive a 1989 240sx !!! i love drifting that thing:)

  • helpful !! im thinking about buying a manual and i have to learn manual come on you'll get used to it anyways

  • i learned to drive a stick on a 1/2 ton '69 chevy 350 small block when i was 7...but i had my dad to teach me..in high school kids r taught on autos here in the u.s. it's complete b.s....u can learn to drive a stick in an hour or two at the most then u'll get better with time...but this is a nice vid...rly breaking it down...good job dude!

  • he made it look simple

  • because it is

  • if u drive and automatic ur a pussy

  • omfg` i cant believe ppl need tutorials abowt this. i live in england and an automatic car is a very rare thig. mainly because there shit slow and a waste of space

  • ya but here in america people r lazy n take autos for granted.

  • very true, and i think its why we have so many careless/dangerous drivers, because when your driving a manual your constantly being aware of the car and keeping track of what the car is doing, in an automatic your just driving carelessly and not paying much attention because your distracted doing other things to occupy yourself because you dont haver to shift gears

  • exactly, once i switched to driving a stick i felt like my driving skills went up a whole lot. Stick just gives u that extra awareness n u get to know the capabilities of your car, while an auto gives u that false sense of control n imo can be more dangerous when someone careless is behind the wheel.

  • false is exactly right lol, when i drive an automatic i never really feel like im in control, its like the car is driving me instead of me driving the car, plus when you drive sick you can squeeze out more gas mileage than you can with an auto.

  • ya same here.

  • yeh

  • For the most part American cars are much more powerful and we have always learned on autmatic cars

  • Now that must be boring ^^

Why put an Automatic transmission after a V8???

  • sweet~

  • great video man , ive been looking for something like that for a while and couldnt find it ( how fast to release the foot off of clutch) and i found it here

  • Well, that covers about anything you need to know about stick shifting! Nice and down to basics without any distracting gadgets.

As I posted elsewhere, I still can't believe it you guys make tutorial videos about it... over here in Europe it´s the first thing you learn in any driving school, because we mainly drive stick-shifters... Ther's an old prejudice going round: automatics are for girls and old men (no offence meant!) :-)

  • It's kind of misfortunate that more U.S. cars don't have manual transmissions.

  • that was pretty helpful. Thanks!
