As much as I love muscle cars and big F-350 Turbo Diesels and such. But every time I see a Porsche I get an epic boner. I loved em as a little kid. I remember the first time I sat in one while I visited Norway changed my life! lol So hopefully soon I'm gonna buy my first 944 and hopefully move on up as the years go by lol.
I wasn't quite as young as this boy when my Porsche fascination began, but I can totally relate to him. And yes, I was able to buy a 911 a month or so ago. Dreams do come true.
And this is why I want to get good grades, finish college, earn 50k a year... I know I'll be successful when I purchase my own (even second-hand) Porsche 911.
porsche is good... but instead of one of those new porsche's with the flat front, i'd preffer a '89-'95 porsche with the cute round lights. ^^ i dont know, but there's something attractive about them besides the lamps which i still don't know... and it's one of the cheapest ways to be a member of a group of maniacs who only preffer the best of the best, the quality, and the good looking... remember the audi commercial with all key chains becoming a audi sign... well, that should've been porsche.

I love my 911, although it's a weekend car, and I hate taking it out in this country in the winter, so it spends a lot of it's time locked up. I've thought about trading it in for a newer turbo, but I'm just so attached to it. I'm thinking of perhaps going to autofarm and getting some engine work done instead and just keeping it, the 996 gt3.1 has been my favorite car since it came out.
Loved this - I have had 7 and am about to buy my 8th.
My husband has been trying to distract me by taking me to BMW, Mercedes, Audi, even Austin Martin, but my heart is with the 911. Sorry, but nothing compares.
The problem for me is the PDK - Why oh why? I am old school and love the manual.
Anyway, loved the commercial - Steve - glad you got what you wanted.
It's been 7 months in since delivery of new 997. Meteor Grey. What a car! It was even better than I imagined. Nearly went the purest way with a manual, but ended up going with PDK & steering wheel paddle shift. WOW! Havent done too many miles in it yet, but am planning a road trip through Spain and France via the Pyrenees in September where I hope to encounter less traffic and better driving roads than south of England. Then next year the west coast of Scotland. Got to use it properly!

a Porsche wich is not a 911 is not even worth buying. Look at the new Porsche Panamera with 4 seats, practical but if you want a car with many passengers when don´t buy a sports car. Porsche is a sports car not a family car.

I hate these commercials. Every time I see one of these long, emotional Porsche commercials, I instantly want a 911 more than anything else. Then I start to settle down a little and think, "Well, I would really probably prefer a Cayman, especially given the cost." Then some more time goes by and I start to approach my normal redneck equilibrium, and after about a week I'm back to dreaming about a '68 Dodge Charger (in black) like normal. Then I see one of these commercials again. Repeat.
@kevin82nd Funny thing is, after I posted that comment, I went from wanting the 911 to wanting the Cayman, just as it says. But then... it just sort of stayed there. Now I've got a Cayman on my desktop background, I've been monitoring Cayman prices on Craigslist, and I've watched and read every Cayman review I can find. And I've concluded, that as soon as I can afford one (an '07 base Cayman can be had for 25-35K) I'm going to get a Cayman. The Charger will just have to wait.

And then you get the professional racing drivers who test-drive the Cayman for Motortrend or something, and reluctantly admit that the Cayman really does handle better than any 911 under the GT3 trim. Besides, the number of people worried to death about their image has driven Cayman prices way down, meaning you can get into one for less than $30,000. Try THAT with a 997.
@JETZcorp I dont know about the US market to be honest is it true the sat nav on the gaymen is pre installed with burger fast food locations for USA cars, thats what the 6th gear review said. as for the comment about the gayment being better than a 911, keep telling yourself that, if that makes you feel better. I am 53, and I am that kid, only I have waited a little longer to finally get there, and have been aching for one since about 1970. I am picking up a brand new 911 next week, and the coming week is going to be the longest 7 days of my life!
I am also a big fan of Porsche when it comes to sports cars. I know how you feel. I can 't afford a Porsche now but about a month ago I bought my dream car after a long time. I bought a Cadillac. Some day, I will buy a Porsche. I don't know how long I will have to wait!

I will get my first 911 in 2 months (counting the days until the delivery) and I am 27. It's been a dream as well and I probably had the same smile as the kid during the 2 hours test drive I was allowed.

Great ad by which ever agency thought it up, it shows that dreaming and hard work has rewards. Although its a great performing car the shape is the same from when i was a kid in the 1970's and is a little too stale or outdated compared to a Aston, Lambo,Ferarri,Mercedes for my taste.

I am 53, and I am that kid, only I have waited a little longer to finally get there, and have been aching for one since about 1970. I am picking up a brand new 911 next week, and the coming week is going to be the longest 7 days of my life!

I will get my first 911 in 2 months (counting the days until the delivery) and I am 27. It's been a dream as well and I probably had the same smile as the kid during the 2 hours test drive I was allowed.

Great ad by which ever agency thought it up, it shows that dreaming and hard work has rewards. Although its a great performing car the shape is the same from when i was a kid in the 1970's and is a little too stale or outdated compared to a Aston, Lambo,Ferarri,Mercedes for my taste.
