i'm trying so hard to break the holdem barrier. i'm sick of texas holdem and i think a lot of players are becoming more open minded of the other games. but i honestly don't understand this low hand shit. ami the only one confused by it? will someone explain it to me please?

in holdem best hand is royal flush, quad, fullhouse, flush, straight, set/trip, 2 pair, one pair, high card? well in Razz it's the other way...high card is the best hand, and straight and flush don't exist (hence royal flush doesn't either)...Ace counts as low. best Razz hand is A2345 (5 high), the second best is A2346 (6 high); for same high card, the second low card would play. so A3479 would beat A3489. 88855 (fullhouse) is great hand in holdem, but it's shitty hand in Razz

@Artoo64 A lot of good razz players just call there, I guess to bring others along while not committing too many chips while needing 2 cards to make a good low hand.

@habs798693 Honestly, I don't think a lot of "good" razz players call there. Razz is a game where things change too much, and when things change, everyone can see it because all of your cards are face-up. 32A is the nuts on 3rd street obviously, but it falls behind even a mediocre hand like 865 if you hit a king and they even just hit a jack. Razz isn't Stud where you can slow play, you've got to get your money in as soon as you can, and the most you can do is check-raise.
