wear did you get the 8' tom, and how much was it, if online which site did you get it from, also wat drum heads did you put on the 8'. please respond in video pleze
@Calcard94 to be honest i've livened it up a bit by switching the ec reso to a g1 now. the ec reso/ec2 coated combo were probs why its pretty dead. great for studio stuff though, and for that classic rock tom fill sound.
@koppergtr yeah they're great heads, i've recently switched to the new clear ec2 sst's, mainly as i needed new heads. they do coated ones too though so look into them!
i love how informative all your vids are. its so helpful and just makes it so easy to find out about your kit and how it sounds. i wish all youtube drummers were like that. 5 stars.
Just a thought, are your cymbals screwed on a LITTLE too tight? Lovely sound, by the way, and does the upside-down mounted splash make it susceptible to cracking?
yeah i thought it was, just slipped my mind at the time of recording! iv got a bc2000 now too, gotta love pearl hardware i think its the best around. iv put up a vid about it recently.
and thanks! its just my accent i guess, light-yorkshire english!
lol, i just didint have the cymbal stands to fit it on lol!
its an awesome cymbal but i wouldnt recommend it as a primary ride, unless you play either bebop or drum n bass exclusively. and thanks! iv recently got some new ones and will get a better quality vid up next time i remember to take a vid camera to the studio
seriously though birmingham drum centre had it on special for £50 so couldnt lat that bargain go (as im sure you know how much they would cost to custom order!!!) and i know it looks out of place but it really does sound amazing so cant complain!
re the cymbals thanks! iv recently acquired some 14" hhxcelerators and a sabian prototype ride which has recently been released as the new vault 3-point ride (vids up soon)
looks nice. wouldn't like having a different make 8" but it's all personal preference. if you pop on my page there's a couple vids you may be interested in. peace
thanks mate, some people say it looks a bit mismatched (which i guess it is!) but i love it! im looking for a 10" tom and 14" floor too fill the kit out a bit (and maybe a 22" kick and put the 18" off to the side with a remote pedal) but since pro m has been replaced with meridian theyre hard to find, especially in the same finish. wish i had enough cash to get a masterworks kit to match my 8" tom though!
haha i hear you here man...i have a gretsch catalina birch and im trying to get an 8" tom but theyre hard to find with my finish...yea i seee where you going with expanding your kit...i love your cymbals haha but yea your right gotta have the bills to get the goods
thanks! yeah i need some more shells to balance it out i think. got a few more cymbals already! (you can see a few on the table in the background). and just got a permanent teaching job so you never know...lol! awkward trying to find shells to match though yeah
haha well good for you man..ive been teaching here and there to a couple of my friends but nothing real big but yea i agree they never have the shell you want haha

LudwigDrummer42 1 year ago
@LudwigDrummer42 its a great finish, very similar to the velvetone black panther snare and kit. It was around £600 for 12, 14, 18 in 2008

they do actually seem a bit rigid on this one, but i assure you i never screw them down!lol!
and i've never had a problem with keyholing or cracking, i just had it set up there as i didnt have another mount. loads of guys do it.
check the video response for my new setup!! and thanks :)
