@ZTellisZ Had a bunch of things to say here, until I looked further down, and my mind was blown by the idiocy that plagues this great song/video. All your points are valid and an uncompromising opinion and your dead on. Your comment gets two horns held high. I've been following Iced Earth since 94, and Into E, for about almost ten years. Stu will make a great addition to I. Earth. I can't stand people who dwell on the past, and don't welcome who the band members feel is a good match. Fuck them!!
@schaffer1984 That is what a lot of Iced Earth fans did you attention whore. Read through a page or 2 of comments and all you will see is hateful (for the most part) idiots.
Many Iced Earth fans may strongly dislike this music. I don't like this song at all (Timeless Winter is decent, though). Anyway, remember, when Stu is with Iced Earth, he won't be singing Into Eternity, he'll be singing Iced Earth. Jon is in charge of how he wants this guy to sound, and his voice is fucking amazing. In my opinion, he has huge potential as a power/thrash singer. We just have to count on Jon to keep Iced Earth going in the right direction.
On this website, metalheads act like pricks because they feel macho for listening to metal even though 90% of them are average height and average or below average weight. You guys are representing Iced Earth fans very poorly, and the real Iced Earth fans, and metalheads, would beat your asses in a bloody pulp for being immature little fucks. You guys are no better than pop and hip hop fans, congratulations, hope your proud.
@hvl41 Well Stu didn't leave Into Eternity, he just so happens to do vocals in both IE's. He said he is going to fulfill his obligations to Into Eternity while doing his thing with Iced Earth.
@jnateh you're Iced earth fan? What I mean is hat the last few albums from iced earth aren't as good as the olders one. The music that Jon makes hasn't the same kick as Violated, Pure Evil etc. The new songs are boring to listen to. I understand that there are people who have an other opinion , and that's ok. This is mine opinion! I still think that Into Eternity makes cooler music then Iced Earth nowadays. So I not been living in a cave I just think the new Iced Earth songs suck!
Hmym...this is like 3 Inches of blood but better clean vocals...Overal sound is really "un-metal" but this is just so odd sounding band that i must get more of it :-D
I wonder what kind of lyrical concept Iced Earth will tackle on their next album, personally I think it would be cool if they made a concept album based on Dante's Inferno same as they did with the Something Wicked Triology (which I don't think is bad but I do believe could have been better if a little more focus went toward the music as opposed to the storyline). Like I said earlier I think Stu will be a good fit for Iced Earth and I don't think his growling will detract too much from
@TheME666TAL Iced Earth's Sound, I mean it's not like they've never had vocalists with harsher vocal styles (Gene Adam, Jon Greely) and even Barlow himself doesn't always sing with clean vocals. I see no reason it should be a problem now. Hell like I also said it might somewhat bring back Iced Earth's heavier and darker sound from their early days.
This kind of stuff really doesn't do it for me. Like many others, after hearing of Stu's move to Iced Earth I just searched "Into Eternity" and found this, their most viewed video. Everyone needs to remember one thing: Jon Schaffer is a control freak. That's not a bad thing. The guy has a vision and NOBODY can derail him. Iced Earth will NOT sound like this. It will sound like Iced Earth. With Stu Block singing. That is all.
@GalacticGravy I think you are the only person on youtube that has actually said something logical in reference to the whole Stu joining Iced Earth thing. These fucking idiots do not realize its gonna be the same Iced Earth sound, but with a different vocalist.
@TwistedMetalLegion remember its Schaffer baby if he can tell Ripper what to do he will have no problem telling this guy. Im really interested to see how it goes. His high voice is awesome but of course the death metal vocals shouldnt be bought to Iced earth
@SexRobotOfDoom Stu Block seems to be very talented vocalist. He has a wide range of available voice tones. From shreeking, through melodic singing, to growls. Some people in some strange way expect that's he'll do growls for IE. I don't think so. It looks like he's going to give IE those melodic vocals with a little Ripper-like shreeks. Sounds interesting to me. We'll see how it's going to work. ;)
@SexRobotOfDoom My friend stu is good but ripper is better i would prefer ripper will back he is the "metal mesiah"( probably you are a child , whos begin to listen metal )
@SexRobotOfDoom He most certainly did. When I heard Matt Barlow was leaving again, I decided not to pay attention to the next album because I assumed Ripper was coming back. Now they have my attention.
I would still rather have Barlow in Iced Earth and Stu Block in Into Eternity, but i'll take what I can get!
Personally I hope Jon does let this guy use his growling vocals in Iced Earth, the harsher and more aggressive vocal style might actually help them put out an album as good as their first three
@k66lyr1 I might be, although that doesn't change that Iced Earth hasn't put out a great album since Burnt Offerings. Everything afterword ranges from pretty good (Something Wicked This way Comes, Horror Show), to ok (Dark Saga and both Something Wicked concept albums) to outright bad (Glorious Burden)
i was praying to see iced earth in athens again(i've seen them in alive in athens too) and now they have planned two shows with that guy...how unfair is that????? :(
I can't even imagine Jon Schaffer with a tal black style and eye liner..:P:PJust kidding.I don't really think that Stu fits to Iced Earth as good as Matt.:/:/:/
I deal with self harmers on a regular basis , and to me it is not a funny subject. In fact it is sad to see , so lets not make light of the subject please.
Jon Schaffer said. "He's very good at coming up with catchy melodies, and will help with lyrical duties as well." and if he brings any of this screaming stuff then i weap for the future of Iced Earth
fucking emo video, it would be better if they put greely back or owens and even gene adam .. i know its not gonna happen but i don´t know why this guy has to be in iced earth.. it would hurt a lot to see that IE got fucked because of a bad decision... we can only wait
@Hoppen100 Oh so all songs that are sad are "emo"?You lack the ability to see the bigger picture this video isn't about"cutting" it's about being in so much pain that you die metaphorically inside according to your way of thinking metallica is "emo".It's jon's band iced earth has played with into eternity in the past if you can't handle the fact that iced earth chose a guy who they liked and thought had a voice that fits their sound then you stop bitching and simply stop listening to iced earth.
@Metalhead498 I'm with ya there man! I Agree I think that if someone wants to bitch about the singer that Jon picked don't listen to the band. I for one, can't wait to see what Stu will do vocally in ICed Earth. I think it will be pretty cool. If I may ask, does this mean that the new Iced EArth album might get a hint of death metal flavor? let me know. I might check this band's work out more. Its pretty cool. Into Eternity that is.
@mkadragtonslayer Iced earth is a power metal band i doubt stu will bring his death metal influences back to iced earth, the fanbase is way too different thats like replacing brittney spears with varg vikerness and i know for a fact some fans will be pissed if they hear growing on the new album .Stu has a great clean voice and to be growling in an iced earth song would be holding him back it fit's into eternity because instrumentally into eternity is a a progressive death metal band.
@mkadragtonslayer Also whenever a vocalist plays with a different band they adapt to fit the genre, for example petri lindroos had a way different style in norther then in ensirifum.Warrel dane in sanctuary and in nevermore ect.Personally i don't want any growling in iced earth songs it holds stu back.Alot of the people who listen to power metal call death metal "noise" so i doubt IE will use growls it'd be a risky move.Maybe if everyone heard ONLY stu's clean voice they'd have a change of heart
@Metalhead498 I agree, reminds me of in flames, you turn on just the music, sounds like prog, you turn on just the vocals, sounds like...well, i dunno what it sounds like, put it together, makes me shudder, they opened for Blind Guardian when I saw them, it was horrible, aside from the bassist blowing his amp, and nothing but high pitch noise came out, it wasnt all that impressive, and these guys have that same feel....
@Metalhead498 That is true I think that Stu joining Iced Earth will be a good thing for him. He will get to do new things vocally and I'm with you on the growelling thing. It doesn't fit ICed Earth's style. So, we'll have to wait and see what happens there. Hey at least we're not bitching like some people LOL. Anyway nevertheless the enxt IE album will be tight!
@Metalhead498 Take it easy man , maybe i was rough judging a band that i barely know. probably i am wrong and this guy will fit IE properly but everyone can have a different opinion and preferences in music. You cant throw shit at people just because they think in a different way.
wtf, what's all this hating on Stu Block. It's not like Iced Earth's last album was genius. Death of Iced Earth. Please. That's the stupidest thing I've ever read. Don't you know they've been dead for a while? Idiots. Iced Earth is never gonna be Something Wicked or Horror Show again.
ok you should check out "Timeless Winter" by this band, it gives a way better impression of the singer. just found it, and now I'm not so negative about the future of iced earth.

Iced earth?now it's called Crapped earth
TheThanasis13 10 months ago
It's a shame that this singer went to Iced Earth. This kicks ass, better then that soft poppy crap Iced Earth is releasing the last few years.
hvl41 10 months ago
@hvl41 Well Stu didn't leave Into Eternity, he just so happens to do vocals in both IE's. He said he is going to fulfill his obligations to Into Eternity while doing his thing with Iced Earth.
TheBloodRedX 10 months ago
@TheBloodRedX. Thank God!!! Thanks for the update.
hvl41 10 months ago
@hvl41
Dude, you must be living in a cave and not know what pop is. Iced Earth has never done anything even remotely approaching accessible pop music.
jnateh 10 months ago
@jnateh you're Iced earth fan? What I mean is hat the last few albums from iced earth aren't as good as the olders one. The music that Jon makes hasn't the same kick as Violated, Pure Evil etc. The new songs are boring to listen to. I understand that there are people who have an other opinion , and that's ok. This is mine opinion! I still think that Into Eternity makes cooler music then Iced Earth nowadays. So I not been living in a cave I just think the new Iced Earth songs suck!

Hmym...this is like 3 Inches of blood but better clean vocals...Overal sound is really "un-metal" but this is just so odd sounding band that i must get more of it :-D
eviljanis 10 months ago
I wonder what kind of lyrical concept Iced Earth will tackle on their next album, personally I think it would be cool if they made a concept album based on Dante's Inferno same as they did with the Something Wicked Triology (which I don't think is bad but I do believe could have been better if a little more focus went toward the music as opposed to the storyline). Like I said earlier I think Stu will be a good fit for Iced Earth and I don't think his growling will detract too much from
TheME666TAL 10 months ago
@TheME666TAL Iced Earth's Sound, I mean it's not like they've never had vocalists with harsher vocal styles (Gene Adam, Jon Greely) and even Barlow himself doesn't always sing with clean vocals. I see no reason it should be a problem now. Hell like I also said it might somewhat bring back Iced Earth's heavier and darker sound from their early days.
TheME666TAL 10 months ago
is this really the new singer of iced earth? but he growls
PolMcCartney 11 months ago
This kind of stuff really doesn't do it for me. Like many others, after hearing of Stu's move to Iced Earth I just searched "Into Eternity" and found this, their most viewed video. Everyone needs to remember one thing: Jon Schaffer is a control freak. That's not a bad thing. The guy has a vision and NOBODY can derail him. Iced Earth will NOT sound like this. It will sound like Iced Earth. With Stu Block singing. That is all.
GalacticGravy 11 months ago
@GalacticGravy I think you are the only person on youtube that has actually said something logical in reference to the whole Stu joining Iced Earth thing. These fucking idiots do not realize its gonna be the same Iced Earth sound, but with a different vocalist.
TheBloodRedX 11 months ago
stu will be great in iced earth anyone who thinks otherwise is just stupid

easily the best death metal band ever made, best metal band would be megadeth though.

TwistedMetalLegion 11 months ago
@TwistedMetalLegion remember its Schaffer baby if he can tell Ripper what to do he will have no problem telling this guy. Im really interested to see how it goes. His high voice is awesome but of course the death metal vocals shouldnt be bought to Iced earth
sheppoperth 11 months ago
i dont think he fits in with IE its ok tho wait 4-5 years barlow will come back again when shaeffer wants to switch it up

Am I the only one thinking Schaffer won the fucking lottery by getting Stu Block?
"Poppy sounding death metal band"? Get bent...
SexRobotOfDoom 11 months ago 53
@SexRobotOfDoom Stu Block seems to be very talented vocalist. He has a wide range of available voice tones. From shreeking, through melodic singing, to growls. Some people in some strange way expect that's he'll do growls for IE. I don't think so. It looks like he's going to give IE those melodic vocals with a little Ripper-like shreeks. Sounds interesting to me. We'll see how it's going to work. ;)

@SexRobotOfDoom I know right? that guy was a fucking ass head.

@SexRobotOfDoom man i don't say stu is very good but he can't replace matt barlow!matt is iced earth!

@SexRobotOfDoom My friend stu is good but ripper is better i would prefer ripper will back he is the "metal mesiah"( probably you are a child , whos begin to listen metal )
1Uriza 8 months ago
@1Uriza Get your head out of your ass, I never demeaned Ripper's or Barlow's worth.
And don't come to conclusions based on one comment, it makes you look stupid.
SexRobotOfDoom 8 months ago
@SexRobotOfDoom its a shame that Barlow had to leave AGAIN
rossapher24 7 months ago
@SexRobotOfDoom He most certainly did. When I heard Matt Barlow was leaving again, I decided not to pay attention to the next album because I assumed Ripper was coming back. Now they have my attention.
I would still rather have Barlow in Iced Earth and Stu Block in Into Eternity, but i'll take what I can get!
rocknrollguru23 7 months ago
Personally I hope Jon does let this guy use his growling vocals in Iced Earth, the harsher and more aggressive vocal style might actually help them put out an album as good as their first three

@TheME666TAL you are insane
k66lyr1 11 months ago
@k66lyr1 I might be, although that doesn't change that Iced Earth hasn't put out a great album since Burnt Offerings. Everything afterword ranges from pretty good (Something Wicked This way Comes, Horror Show), to ok (Dark Saga and both Something Wicked concept albums) to outright bad (Glorious Burden)

wightangel 11 months ago
Jon Schaffer said. "He's very good at coming up with catchy melodies, and will help with lyrical duties as well." and if he brings any of this screaming stuff then i weap for the future of Iced Earth
MIKOHNE 11 months ago
fucking emo video, it would be better if they put greely back or owens and even gene adam .. i know its not gonna happen but i don´t know why this guy has to be in iced earth.. it would hurt a lot to see that IE got fucked because of a bad decision... we can only wait
Hoppen100 11 months ago
@Hoppen100 Oh so all songs that are sad are "emo"?You lack the ability to see the bigger picture this video isn't about"cutting" it's about being in so much pain that you die metaphorically inside according to your way of thinking metallica is "emo".It's jon's band iced earth has played with into eternity in the past if you can't handle the fact that iced earth chose a guy who they liked and thought had a voice that fits their sound then you stop bitching and simply stop listening to iced earth.
Metalhead498 11 months ago
@Metalhead498 I'm with ya there man! I Agree I think that if someone wants to bitch about the singer that Jon picked don't listen to the band. I for one, can't wait to see what Stu will do vocally in ICed Earth. I think it will be pretty cool. If I may ask, does this mean that the new Iced EArth album might get a hint of death metal flavor? let me know. I might check this band's work out more. Its pretty cool. Into Eternity that is.
mkadragtonslayer 11 months ago
@mkadragtonslayer Iced earth is a power metal band i doubt stu will bring his death metal influences back to iced earth, the fanbase is way too different thats like replacing brittney spears with varg vikerness and i know for a fact some fans will be pissed if they hear growing on the new album .Stu has a great clean voice and to be growling in an iced earth song would be holding him back it fit's into eternity because instrumentally into eternity is a a progressive death metal band.
Metalhead498 11 months ago
@mkadragtonslayer Also whenever a vocalist plays with a different band they adapt to fit the genre, for example petri lindroos had a way different style in norther then in ensirifum.Warrel dane in sanctuary and in nevermore ect.Personally i don't want any growling in iced earth songs it holds stu back.Alot of the people who listen to power metal call death metal "noise" so i doubt IE will use growls it'd be a risky move.Maybe if everyone heard ONLY stu's clean voice they'd have a change of heart
Metalhead498 11 months ago
@Metalhead498 I agree, reminds me of in flames, you turn on just the music, sounds like prog, you turn on just the vocals, sounds like...well, i dunno what it sounds like, put it together, makes me shudder, they opened for Blind Guardian when I saw them, it was horrible, aside from the bassist blowing his amp, and nothing but high pitch noise came out, it wasnt all that impressive, and these guys have that same feel....
dentros 11 months ago
@Metalhead498 That is true I think that Stu joining Iced Earth will be a good thing for him. He will get to do new things vocally and I'm with you on the growelling thing. It doesn't fit ICed Earth's style. So, we'll have to wait and see what happens there. Hey at least we're not bitching like some people LOL. Anyway nevertheless the enxt IE album will be tight!
mkadragtonslayer 11 months ago
@Metalhead498 Take it easy man , maybe i was rough judging a band that i barely know. probably i am wrong and this guy will fit IE properly but everyone can have a different opinion and preferences in music. You cant throw shit at people just because they think in a different way.

wtf, what's all this hating on Stu Block. It's not like Iced Earth's last album was genius. Death of Iced Earth. Please. That's the stupidest thing I've ever read. Don't you know they've been dead for a while? Idiots. Iced Earth is never gonna be Something Wicked or Horror Show again.

Iced Earth 1984-2011, RIP.
ya6655 11 months ago
@ya6655 Actually, it's 1984-2003 then 2008-2011. LOL, actually Stu Block will be pretty decent in Iced Earth, just give it time, you'll see.
DonKingKong2020 11 months ago
ok you should check out "Timeless Winter" by this band, it gives a way better impression of the singer. just found it, and now I'm not so negative about the future of iced earth.
aPsychoticWaltz 11 months ago
ouch. I hope he improved his style in the last 5 years (tho I suppose so), otherwise this will be even worse than the ripper times.
