I kind of disagree with you, I feel that lyrics are (atleast to me) somewhat very important. Don't get me wrong though, I don't listen to RnB, hiphop etc, but strong lyrics can be just as powerful as a strong melody - combined they give me shivers. Maybe I'm more of the philosophy-guy. Screaming/growling etc is awesome though!

Im 14 and I listen to Death Metal, Heavy Metal, Punk, Rock...Grindcore, Black Metal. So stuff like that. I get alot of shit saying my music's crap because of 1 song, or because it doesnt sound like their pop or Rap music. Apparently ALL heavy metal song (or rock etc) is emo-_- they just dont get it. I also get stuff like its all just screaming. Slipknot have a few emotional songs, hope it all stops:/

Well 95% of all the rap and hip hop genre are all the same , and they come up with it in like 10 minutes .. Want to know why ? Because its the same as every other song and pertains to the same subjects.. Rap and hip hop barely revolve around anything else other than girls , drugs , money , or how great they are... Theres only that 5% that can actually make rap and hip hop GOOD

@Dinac47 listen to Wormed. its wicked wicked brutal death Expirimental/slam metal. the lyrics all revolve around space and cosmos and stuff. songs like Planisphaerium, and Geodesic Dome are good but its some of their old stuff. their newest album (2 songs) entiled "Quasineutrality" has the songs Undeciphering The Inquantificability and Uncoloured Plasma Orifices Transported (my favorite). you should check them out. lyrics wont gross you out at all
