I have this movie .. I had to go on EBAY and and bid for hours against three others. Ended up paying 35.00 bucks back in 1999 and do not regret it one bit. Wish it would come out on DVD

This has to be one of my all time favorite movies, one of, if not the best ,preformance by Jane Fonda ever. Being from a rural upbringing the theme and the music really struck a chord, it's impossible to watch without bringing a tear to the eye!!

My Aunt..Phyllis Sue Workman Bowens plays a small part in this movie..as the post mistress delivering the mail on horseback! This is a truely good movie!

Could whom ever downloaded this wee bit , finish downloading the rest of this wonderful movie please?. It has such fond memories for me from when I first saw it.. My children sang this song all the while they were growing up crying when it got to the part about watering the garden with the tears that the babies cry.

It's been a long time since I saw this movie, but I remember it like it was yesterday. It was a made for TV movie which aired in 1984. I have only seen it once or twice. I wish that they would play it again so that I could record it. They don't make excellent movies like this anymore.

I am killing myself trying to find the soundtrack. I love the songs and I love this movie. they dont make movies like this anymore. The iron mountain string band does the songs but the soundtrack is impossible to find, :(

My momma was born and raised in Virgie Ky and Jane Fonda nailed the accent in this movie even better than Sissy Spacek in Coal Minors Daughters Daughter.
