I can hear almost everything in this video, except for laughing and that short part where they clapped. Sorry an audience shows appreciation on a final night. I do think there is a truth to saying that people should not go see a show for the first time on the last night of the show, not because they are not wanted, but because people get emotional on a final night. You can't help it.
this show touched the hearts of the broadway community like no other. it breaks my heart that i caught on too late, & will never get the chance to see it. hunter, jeff, susan, heidi [& sometimes larry] thankyou so much for changing my life simply by this song. i love this show's fanbase so much, too. all so supportive.
I like that all of the comments on this page are like a paragraph long. Oops, mine is gonna be too short. I'll fix that. I like that all of the comments on this page are like a paragraph long. So basically, what you're saying is that those who want to experience a great show for the first time (at the last chance they are able to) are not allowed to because fans treat it as simply a chance to scream at the actors? Last time I checked, this show is all about art- and you wouldn't allow a museumgoer to splatter paint on the Mona Lisa, even if they claim that it's only done out of respect.
you are exaggerating what happened. you can hear the music and diologue perfectly fine, but if you come to a final show to which the die hard fans have ordered most of the tickets to in advanced, than yes expect to hear tons of fan praise. it isn't just the last show for the fans, its the last show for the actors and people want to show how much they love them. and this is the perfect show for that type of appreciation. it is just the way it is. you don't go to the last show for a normal viewing
i'm not saying it is completely fair, it is just the way it is. the last show will most likely be different from the usual show. actors often insert inside jokes that only fans would understand, and the audience will mostly be filled with people who have already seen it. Either way you will still get a great show, and people kill to get tickets to final shows so anyone who is able to get into one should feel very lucky to have experienced such an exciting night in the theater
if you just want to hear the song, buy the cast recording...THIS, however, is a record of the incredible energy and emotion and outpouring of love and support from the audience for the cast and the show on that final night.
I find it ironic that one who expresses a desire to listen to the music that others apparently love so much is chastised for not taking a backseat to the outright rude behavior of individuals who simply go to a performance to show that they are better at appreciating the music than others.
so so so inspiring. they just came to my school and worked with us. it was absolutely amazng. best master class ever. nicest, most amazing people ever.
one of my friends knows them and she got them to come. they were soooo chill and they said "word" constantly. they like did this really cool excercise to help us like find emotion or w.e. it was liek REALLY good.
Heidi, and the boys, lift Susan up above their heads so that she is horizontal with the stage, and they sing the next few bars in this position walking Susan around.
There's a CD from when they were Off-Broadway that is essentially the same as from Broadway, there are only a few relatively minor lyrical changes. It's available on iTunes and many other fine retailers. There is no official recording from Broadway and in all likelihood will not be; the only way to hear the Broadway version is bootlegs like this one.
So i love that you recorded that and all and I downloaded the "full audio" and its not the whole thing. What happened? it cuts out at Heidi's song. thats for posting this this show is amazing!!!!
I would kill to know what they did at the end that was so hilarious

The people commenting to complain about the audience in the recording clearly aren't theatre people…

I was there that night...
And I have to tell you I CRIED and CRIED.
My 15 year old daughter introduced me to this show and it moved me like no other.
So we HAD to go to say a sweet goodbye to our 4 warriors of passion who moved us all so much.
I will remember this night for the rest of my life and use these songs to inspire myself as I work towards my own dream.

For the last show?? Hell no!! the audience was showing support like no other!! I was there and i was in tears because of audience reactions!

But you can't hear the music. Why are you there then? I'd rather listen to music than applause.

We could hear them perfectly there, just not on this recording because the recorder is IN the audience ;-)

the closing night is not for newcomers it is for existing fans who already love the show and want to show their appreciation.
