One can actually feel all of the graces flowing through this piece of music. As with much of Bach's music, there can be no doubt that he composed this for the greater glory of God.
@mcrayton3 I think such a compliment from the US choir tradition is very welcome. Keep in mind, that this boy choir in 2 years will look back to a history of 800 years, since the choir was founded in1212. Having had J.S. Bach as one of its conductors has been an obligation ever since. Maybe the George Bragg choirs sounding like the Thomaner would put things into a better historical context. But at the end of the day what counts is that music can lift our hearts and put a smile on our faces.
hats, That is because he wrote to the glory of God.

I am a shamelessly agressive Atheist, But all of Bach's music secular and religious is a thing of beauty.

Wow you can really see how Bach was familiar with the old style of counterpoint here.

Very nice! Sound like a George Bragg trained choir. Just in case you are not familiar, that is a compliment of the highest order :-)

Did you mean Georg Christoph Biller? If so, yes! He IS a trained baritone singer himself and he was, himself, a thomaner - a member of the boy choir.
Btw, this performance is, as wcbroccoli said, magnificent! Wish I was there.
